OT: American Girl Bitty Twins
Totally off topic. I am having a hard deciding between getting identical girl twins and girl/boy twins. (of course my husband would say neither.) I am leaning towards identical girls with brown hair, but everyone I have asked says why pay money to get the same doll. And I say b/c they are identical twins.
If your child has bitty twins, which two did you get and are you happy with what you got? I'd like to place my order soon because they have free shipping for orders over $100. TIA! |

This might not help answer your dilemma, but I wanted to get an AG doll for DD2 for Christmas (she's 2.5). I didn't want to spend $100 on a doll for her, but I knew she'd want to have a doll with hair like DD6 (she has Kit and an AG doll that looks like her). I bought the Bitty Twin set (one brown eyes & hair like DD2 and one blonde w/ blue eyes) but I am giving the blonde doll to my niece for Christmas. That way DD2 will be thrilled (as will my niece) and I won't be as upset if she "mistreats" the doll.
If I gave her the set, I would buy two girls. I would mix it up and get different color hair. They could be fraternal twins, right? HTH!

DD wants one blond girl like me and one brunette boy like DH. She already has a fisher price little mommy doll that looks like her, so she wanted a family.

My DD5 is the proud Mama to a set of girl/girl fraternal Bitty Twins ... one is brunette and one is blonde. I knew she wanted the twins for Christmas, so I asked her which ones she thought Santa should bring. Santa went with her suggestion.

My DD has a boy/girl set, and I have to say that the boy doesn't get much attention. So, I'm thinking about selling him. The original thought was that my DS would play with him, but that didn't happen either. Your DD might play more with the 2 girls.
If you just want one, I think you can buy a single by calling a real American Girl store. There was a thread on the budget board about that recently. I got our set through QVC. |

I wish my girls liked baby dolls (dd6 and dd8 love the american girl dolls - 3 hand-me-downs from dd13). The brown haired boy and blond girl look SO my like my twins looked! I would buy them, but no one would play with them...

Wow, I can't believe the blonde hair bitty twins are all ready back ordered. Thanks for all the responses. I did go ahead and order the Brown Hair girls. I hope that was the right decision, but that is what I was drawn towards. I also got the start collection. Ugg, I hope she likes the double stroller. We all ready have the bitty baby stroller and then I also go her a cheaper jogging stroller from Target for her to play outside with.

I purchased the boy/girl dark haired Bitty twins for my youngest daughter when she was 3. Since she was so young, she did not express a real opinion on what dolls.
My older daughter always wanted a boy baby, so I bought the boy/girl twins. Yep, over the years my younger daughter has wished for the girl/girl twins on occasion, but overall the twins have received MUCH play! On Christmas day my mom suggested the name for the twins...Buffy and Jody from the old Family Affair TV show and that has stuck since day one!We also have the Bitty Twin stroller. It is well made, but it is large and cumbersome for younger kids. My dd who will be 5 at Christmas is just starting to use it more. Oh, and keep in mind that the bitty baby clothes also fit the twins. I try to keep an eye out for sales on AG clothing because that stuff is expensive but SO well made and my girls love, love, love the clothing. |

Hi!
My dd 8 received the african american bitty twin girls last year and LOVES them! She is very much a baby doll girl (she does have regular AG dolls and loves them too) and she has had a blast with those dolls! I thought, originally, that she would enjoy the boy and girl but she mentioned wanting the girls so...we did it!!! The other thing is that my dd loves attention and boy does she get it when she takes those twins out! People talk about the twins...ask her about the twins...comment on the twins!!! What fun! |

Our daughter has the blonde boy and girl twins. She got them when she was 3, she is 6 now and still plays with them! Now that she has been collecting the regular AG dolls, she says the twins are their baby brother and sisters. She still uses the double stroller and has a much easier time using it outdoors then in.

My DD will be turning 8 in 2 weeks. She has multiple AG dolls and a bitty baby and what does she want.... Bitty Twins. 1 boy and 1 girl with brown hair just like her. To bad I could not get them with blue eyes. I bought when QVC had them in Sept.
