Thanksgiving Week Crowds?
Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone can tell me what the crowds are like the weekend and week leading up to Thanksgiving? We can book our DVC reservations for next year in Dec and I'm just wondering what it's like in the parks then. Are most or all of the holiday decorations up by then? We're planning on leaving the day beofre Thanksgiving to be home to celebrate with the rest of tha family but still just wondering if the place is gonna be a zoo that week and weekend before. Thanks for any guidence.

Don't know, but I'll come back and post after we get back on the 30th.
I've heard it's super busy but I'll reserve judgement until we get back. We are going expecting crowds tho. As for decorations, the holiday season officially began this year on 11-13 so the parks were decorated by then.

We took 14 trips from July 07-July 08 and around 16 from Jan 09-Jan 10. |

I went one Thanksgiving a few years ago...and the park was PERFECT! Since most of the locals are with their families all day, the park is crowds are down to a minimum!
With the exception of Christmas & New Years, most major holidays are great times to go! My personal favorites would be Mothers Day, Fathers Day and Halloween! |

When I went in November 2005, the Sunday before Thanksgiving was a zoo...but that was a while ago. I think some Southern California schools get the whole week of Thanksgiving off? That would mean a lot of locals.
I'm sure others can be more helpful but I thought I'd tell you what I know. Have a great trip, whenever you end up eventually going!

All of the schools here in San Diego get all of Thanksgiving week off - I think that's true for LA and Orange County, also. So I'd expect the entire week to be busy.

We go each week of Thanksgiving and I always say...I'll never do this again. Yes, we are going again
![]() We do just a few rides and then eat. We try to do things that we have never done before, which has been really fun. See you on Sunday!!! |

We were there 2 years ago. Arrived on Sat and left on Wed to go be with our So Cal family for Thanksgiving. It was not that busy early in the week (even the weekend didn't seem bad) but I felt it got increasingly busy each day. Wed seemed to be pretty busy and I thought it was good we were leaving. I think more and more schools are out the whole week now though so I imagine it's a very popular time to go. Wish we were going this year :-(
I do think the crowds were much thinner then than our October trip this year. The decorations were mostly up but our hotel (DLH) was not decorated until Wed or so and they were putting up a tree in DT disney on our last day. It seems like decorations were going up way early this year though. |

FYI, the school up here in the northern half of CA have the whole week off too. But we aren't leaving until after work on Wed.
