POR Food Court question

Hello!!!

We are looking at ordering some groceries for our stay at POR... Does the food court have a microwave and/or toaster? We wanted to order some bagels and would like to be able to toast them. We also were looking at getting the oatmeal cups but would need a way to heat them. Thanks!!!!

This isn't exactly what you asked, but for our upcoming trip in January we are planning to eat some breakfasts in our room. We are 1) going to purchase a cheap $3 toaster on black friday and bring with us and 2) plan to purchase a refillable cup and use it to get hot water in the food court for our oatmeal. We have the advantage of flying SWA so our luggage doesn't cost and we figure if we bring the toaster and need the room flying home no big deal. Hopefully someone else will be able to answer your questions about POR though.

That is a good idea.. but we do have to pay to check our bags. So, I do not want go through all that. I was wondering if the water would be hot enough to heat the oatmeal without the microwave. If so, we are getting the refillable mugs, so that might work. Thanks!!!!

They have microwaves and toasters in the food court area.

Beware of bringing any bench top appliances like toasters into your room, I think I read somewhere that it was against fire regulations, and I overheard someone in an elevator saying housekeeping asked them to remove it. So hide it!

You could use the coffee pot to heat up water for the oatmeal cups.

Just remember that your room will likely be a good hike from the food court so if you wanted to eat the items in your room they may not be as warm as you’d like them by the time you get back to your room. I like the idea of using the in room coffee pot to heat water for oatmeal.

We ran hot water through our coffee maker for oatmeal a few mornings and it worked really well on our last trip to POFQ

Thanks for the tip about the hot water in the coffee pot for oatmeal. I think we will try that. But we will probably do the hike to toast the bagel. I am not so worried about a lukewarm bagel.. I just want it a little crunchy.
