End of day, empty DHS TSM wait time ?

When we were at DHS in August, the park reaaaaally emptied out after the second showing of F! We walked back to TSM to see what was happening(everything else was walk on or 5-10 minute wait). The wait time said 110 minutes and the CMs were yelling yes, this really is the wait time! There was no line outside and from what we could see from the door ad windows it didn't really look like much of a line inside. We decided not to ride, but then I kicked myself the rest of the trip wondering if the wait time was REALLY that long or are they trying to get people out of the park and not to ride? It was about 45 minutes before closing.

Anyone else have this and actually ride it? What was the wait time?

Thanks!

1- They were likely, uhhh, "INFLATING the numbers" to you.

2- You should have gone on in.

3- A well-known CM "trick of the trade."

All the E-Tickets are going to have "stacked" queues near the end of the day. Often times they'll hold guests just inside at the start of the queue, so it looks like the line is spilling out of the building. In reality the wait is probably 15-20 minutes. This is a very old trick. They do this because it's Disney policy to let you on a ride provided you are in line before the park "closes". If they didn't do this then the CMs would have to stay much later to make sure everybody got to ride. This in turn drives up costs due to having to pay the CMs for the extra time.

if the line isn't out the door, then its not anywhere close to that time. They listed 30min when I went last week and it was really a 5min wait. We got right up to the part where you get the glasses.. that was the start of the line.

What would and estimated wait time be for a ride where you can see people in line up to the entryway?

An hour, give or take.

Always be the second one in the outhouse. It's going to smell anyway so you might as well have a warm seat.

I get your point, BUT, that is their job. If they don't like, they can get a job somewhere else.

I don't have that kind of flexability at my job. I can't just turn customers away because I don't feel like working anymore. If I saw this happening I would compain to a manager. Let them know how you feel about this practice, or just get in line and enjoy the ride.

I worked retail and we closed the door at 10. Those that were inside were checked out. We weren't still taking people while we were checking them out. I am sure the CM's are following instructions from their managers.

Same thing happened to us

Sign said 60 min and it was 9:30 and DHS closed at 10. I knew that if we were in line we would get to ride. I asked the CM if it really was 60 min (we'd never ridden before so I didn't know how much queue was inside) and he grumbled "That's what it says." We hesitated, then he mumbled "but if it's not, then Merry Christmas." We had nothing else we really wanted to do and we really wanted to make sure we rode TSM so we got in line. We ended up waiting exactly 21 min. That was how I learned to use my own judgement about wait times, especially at the end of the day. At MK we saw 40 min for Winnie the Pooh one evening and we could see that there was only about 20 people in line.
