Question regarding the sink area in the Deluxe Resort rooms
My family of 5 (including 3 women, two of which are teenagers) may be doing a Spring break 2010 Disney trip. We've been there several times before and have stayed in all of the Deluxe resorts but haven't been there for a couple of years. I know most (if not all) of the Deluxe resort rooms have been refurbished in recent years so I'm wondering what the set up of the sink areas are like now? We would really like to have a room with double sinks in an area separate from the shower/tub/toilet room. Does anyone know which of the Deluxe resorts (not including AKL or WL since we are a family of 5) now have this set up in their refurbished rooms?

I believe all rooms have the sinks outside the toilet/shower room. Last spring we went with my Mom and she has a medical condition where she needs the sink in the toilet room and our Dreams Unlimited TA told me that there were no hotels set up that way. You could go to allearsnet.com and look at the pictures in the resort section to verify. HTH!

We were just at the Poly in Oct. and our room only had a single sink and it was in the bathroom. We have stayed at the YC club and that room did have a double sink. Bust as far as the rest of the resort I could not tell you.

We've stayed at the BC, CR & Poly. Now that I think back the PP is correct that the sinks are in the same room at the Poly. The toilet is tucked back behind though which is why I was thinking it was in a different room (still wouldn't work for my Mom). At the BC and CR the sinks were double and outside the toilet/shower room. At the Poly we had double sinks unlike the PP. It depends on which longhouse you are in I think. We were in Rapa Nui. You could visit:
http://www.tikimanpages.com/tiki/quick-longhouses To see specific info about each longhouse. From looking there you will want to avoid a handicapped accessible room for sure.

Just returned from a split stay at Contemporary (Tower) and Poly (Tahiti Longhouse). Both of our rooms had double sinks inside the same room as the toilet and shower. The only difference being at the Contemporary where we could slide closed a privacy door for total privacy while using the toilet.
I'm pretty sure our BC double sink area was outside the toilet and shower area.....hmmmmm, trying hard to remember since that was a year ago....Hopefully someone will weigh in on that one. One thing I noticed about our rooms at the Contemporary and Poly were there were LOTS of mirrors throughout the room in the living space, over the daybed for example. You groovy gals could definitely put on make-up or do hair "out there" while others are showering, etc. Have fun!

The Polynesian has some rooms where there is one sink and it is in the bathroom. A few buildings, I think Tahiti have the two sinks.
The Contemporary rooms have two sinks but they are in the bathrooms. Other deluxe resorts, GF, WL, AKL, YC, BW and BC have two sinks outside the bathroom. |

At the Contemporary all their rooms have two sinks right next to the bathtub and the toilet is behind another door.

I've seen pics of the refurbished rooms at the BC and YC and the sinks looked like they may now be in the same room as the shower/tub/toilet. Can anyone who has stayed there recently confirm this? I know that when we were at the YC in March 2008 they were separate but I think they have since refurbished their rooms and possibly have changed the bathroom set up. Also does anyone know about BWI?

Almost all the Poly rooms have one sink inside the bathroom; the only exceptions I believe are some rooms in Tahiti I think--but in that case, the sinks are in the bathroom. We have stayed there three times, and this has been the set-up all three times.
At the Grand Floridian, there are two sinks outside the toilet/tub area with a door between.

Boardwalk and Yacht and Beach all have double sinks outside the toilet/tub/shower area. Stayed at the Boardwalk in Feb 2009 and visited friends that stayed at the YC/BC in July 2009
