Where to rest?

I will be 7 weeks pregnant when my DH and I go to DLR over Thanksgiving. I know the parks are open late, and because of our flight, we probably won't get into the park until late morning / early afternoon. I know I am going to need some frequent rest breaks, given how tired I have been lately, and that we will have just flew across the United States (i.e. jet lag, etc.). Any suggestions of where in the park is a good place to rest a bit? Our hotel is not within walking distance (unfortunately), so going back to the room really isn't an option. We will only be there three days...

When our daughter was asleep in her stroller, we spent a lot of time sitting in New Orleans Square. There are many, many tables and benches and it's so lovely, especially this time of year. There are shady benches outside of the Matterhorn, by Alice in Wonderland, and I can't tell you how many characters I've seen stroll by. I had a hilarious encounter with the Mad Hatter while waiting for my daughter to wake up.

If you need to take a nap you might be able to go to First Aid, located on Main Street. They have a place to lay down there. There are benches throughout the park where you can just relax. Also, you can go to the Grand Californian lobby and relax in one of their overstuffed chairs or sofas.

Other nice places for some down-time:

Animation Studios in DCA
Aladdin in DCA (nice, long show)
Take the full grand-circle tour on the DLRR
Innoventions (lots of seating so you can rest while others in your party explore)
Redwood Creek Challenge Trail (another great spot to rest while the rest of your family plays)

My favorite is the GCH Lobby with the comfy couches and rockers by the fireplace.

Whenever I need a rest in DL, I ALWAYS just get on the train LOL. I sit on that thing and ride it around the park a couple of times. It takes a while to go around, you're sitting and you still get to see things.

There are TONS of places to rest and take brakes...I call it my "people watching" time So fun!

It's kindof hard to pick a place bec you never know where you're going to end up during the day...but all lands have resturants, benches, quiet rides or shows where you can sit and rest. Same with California Adventure. I LOVE going to the animation studio to cool down or rest!

Like others mentioned the train is GREAT for just taking a load off but still enjoy the "magic."

I think, no matter where you are there is always a place to sit and relax...as a family that always takes a grandma with us there has always been a place for them to sit and rest

I'm with DangerMouse--love the GCH lobby and the adjacent Hearthstone lounge! In the lounge, you can order a nice cocoa or something, plus they have games to play, a fireplace, nice comfortable couches and chairs, and a lovely environment in which to enjoy it. The lobby is also very nice for reading and relaxing, listening to the music (there is often a piano player), and just watching the comings and goings. I like to get an ice cream thingy from Haagen-Daz (right across the way) and eat it there.

My favorite spots in the parks: There is a food stand in front of HM that sells salmon salads and soup in a breadbowl. Looks like a shack and is next to the water. There is a path that runs behind it and takes you past the flume that exits from Splash Mt. There are some nice tables along that path and it's fairly secluded. You're right on the water, too.

I also like the decks behind Hungry Bear.

I like the Coke Corner area. That spot near the Ride Wait Times board, where they have the DVC stand, is usually not crowded and a good place to see the hub activities.

Sometimes I just take a break by going through the Tortilla Factory tour and the Sourdough Bakery tour in CA. Plus you get a bonus free snack.

Not sure if they still have it open, but the Golden-something in CA had an exposition of the CA expansion. There is a movie they show and there are benches to sit on.

The Billy Hill show in the Golden Horseshoe is a fun place to sit for a while, enjoy a great show, and eat if you're so inclined.

Whenever my family and I go to DL, we end up grabbing drinks and sometimes a small lunch from the Plaza Inn and sitting down at one of the tables right next to the fence separating the restaurant from Main Street--it's a great spot for people watching (and later in the night, it's a great spot for fireworks viewing, depending)!
