Smile favorite non -chocolate cookie

Hi
I am participating in a cookie exchange where we bring two different kinds of cookies. I wanted to bring one with chocolate and one without.

Any suggestions for a non-chocolate kind of cookie?

Thumbprints

Sugar Cookies

Meringues

In that order if you are doing a christmas cookie exchange, if not please substitute oatmeal raisin for any of the above.

my youngest lives for snickerdoodles. Every time we take them somewhere, a lot of people have never had them and love them.

Thanks
Those both sound great. I hadn't thought about oatmeal or snickerdoodles

I love snickerdoodles but a close second is shortbread. They are really easy to make and are very good.

Carrot cake cookies... just made them this weekend and they're all gone already! You can also add some cream cheese icing to make cookie sandwiches.

1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 (8 ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained
3/4 cup shredded carrots
1 cup raisins
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets or line with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, stir in the crushed pineapple, carrots and raisins. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon; stir into the carrot mixture. Mix in the walnuts if desired. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheets.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes in the preheated oven, until bottoms begin to brown and cookies are set. Allow cookies to cool for a few minutes on the cookie sheets before removing to wire racks to cool completely.

and kifles. My mom has a friend who makes them for her, she brings them for Christmas. They melt in your mouth. I really need to learn how to make these.

Known by different names, but always delicious, are Russian tea cakes, Mexican Wedding cookies or Hawaiian Snowballs (if you use macadamia nuts). I like them best with hazelnuts, but I've made them with pecans and walnuts with very good results.
