Room in the Castle....anyone picked for it? - The DIS Discussion Forums

So when I called to change some ADR last Friday, she asked if this was a special trip. I had told them last time that it was our first trip...so she made sure that was in there...

whatever. So then she's like, well you'll get special pins and make sure you wear them ALL the time, in our resort, at the parks, all that. I asked why. She said sometimes they'll pick you out of the crowd for special things. She named a few and said one was being chosen to stay in the castle.

Does this actually EVER happen? I won't get my hopes up that's for sure. And how do they pick? Like are they going to pluk you out of a crowd and say, go get your bags!?!!?!? She was VERY nice to me on the phone but I kinda had to laugh at what she was saying.

They did do it routinely last year during the "Year of Million Dreams Promo" Haven't heard of them doing it since the beginning of 2009

That's what I figured. With all their cut backs, I doubt they'll do anything...except give us pins.

we have been alot of times! last year my husband and I went on our honeymoon (disneymoon) and we got pins, we got congrats along the way and a special picture signed from mickey and minnie, free dessert some places and one night we went to the california grill and got Mickey head confety(sp) on our table....they do a little extra touch! have fun and enjoy your time, you never know what you will get.

we have gone a few times for our anniversary and last yr we were given a very nice gift when we had dinner at CRT......crystal champagne flutes with CTR etched in them. Then another time we were asked to ride the Fire Truck in the Family Day Parade and a few times asked to follow a CM to the front of the line! Got a lot of wishes also. This time around we will have a newbie with us, one that just graduated and one turning 16....so who knows! No matter what does or doesnt happen its all MAGICAL!!

Oh cool! Maybe we'll get a perk or two then!

I'd love to stay in the castle though

It has nothing to do with cutback.

1. That was the promo last year, this year it's different.

2. There's only 1 room but 4 theme parks, 2 water parks, and a shopping district, even if they still did it, your odds were incredibly slim.

They still use the room, you can find an occasion sweepstakes to try
and will a stay.
