OKW.... good locations to hope for???

We are arriving 2 weeks from today and at the time I made the reservation I was not able to secure HH. What buildings should I hope for or request if I do on-line check in. We are interested in being in a nice area but proximity to buses and the main pool are up there on our list as well.

Is there an area I should absolutely refuse if it is assigned to us?

Thanks
Dee

We've never been disappointed in any of the units we've stayed in at OKW. Our kids enjoyed Turtle Pond. Penninsular is relatively close to the Main Pool if you can get it (Buildings 23 -26).

Building 23 to 26 are part of the guaranteed near HH category, which was not available when the OP booked the reservation.

Bldgs 27 to 29, 15, 16 and 62 to 64 would be the next best choices. Remember that 62 to 64 are the only OKW bldgs with elevators and are often held for those with mobility issues.

Frankly, all areas of OKW are fine, and with so many bus stops and the Hospitality (main pool) area being the last stop, it's easy to get there from anywhere in the resort. Some of the buildings mentioned, while easy access to HH, do have "issues". Buildings 28 and 29 for instance. If you are in a studio, building 29 could put you right next to the noisy road, and you could also be under a GV. Besides that, building 29 has very little for "view". Building 28 will not have the GV issue or be close to the road, but views will be similar to 29. Our preference for your requirements would be buildings 15, 16, 17, and 18. We LOVE buildings 45 and 46. They are right on the canal and are a quick 5 minute walk to HH, but have spectacular views.

Personally, I never make requests and OKW has never disapointed me. Bldng 15 is within walking distance to HH and has lovely views, as well as 45 & 46. You bring up an interesting scenario, depending on how busy or full up they are, refusing a location may not be an option!

I've stayed in all the sections except Miller Road. My favorite is Turtle Pond Road, although that is farther from the main pool. The only room I disliked was 28, as Diane mentioned. It's along a golf fairway and is surrounded by trees. Not only no view but the room was very dark because of it.

You should try Miller's Road! Some of the views from there are spectacular and have great sunrise views. We liked being by the pond outside buildings 20/21.

You don't mention the size of unit you reserved or the number of people in your party, but if you are in a 1-br or 2-br, AND will have someone sleeping in the living room, AND you don't want that person to have to go thru a bedroom to get to a bathroom, request building number 30 or higher, as those buildings have bathroom access without going thru a bedroom.

Drat!!! I keep forgetting the change in building categories. Sorry for the misinformation. I agree with the other posts. We've never been disappointed. The resort is cozy enough that the farthest walk to the HH is not that long. We've waited much longer for a bus.

How about here

We were there in Sept. and stayed in building 15. Its half way between HH and Millers Rd bus stop, just about 5 minutes walk from HH and pool.
