Question Late Jan Visit - Typical Crowds? Suggestions for other "must see" in the area?

For you Universal regulars, I was wondering if you could give me an idea of what the crowds are like late Jan, early Feb. We are travelling to town and I'd like to do some non-Disney stuff as we have always been exclusive Disney on our past trips. I am very familiar how to "tour" the disney parks most times of the year but very unfamiliar with Universal.

Also, we have a little extra time while during our vacation. Would you recommend Sea World or anywhere else as a must see?

Thank you, thank you. Any help would be sooo appreciated! Love reading all the expert advise on these boards!!

I'm not a regular, but the crowds there now from reading the wait times are really low. This time of year is comparable to that time of year. Lines for IOA are 5 minutes for almost every single ride, with 15 being the highest I've seen on a non Saturday. At the Studios, lines are longer. Peaks of 25-30 minutes for MIB, ET, Mummy, and Simpsons. Rip Ride Rockit has peaks over an hour and a half right now, so that's the only ride where there is any worry, but I would suspect they might have things ironed out a bit more by the time you're there.

you did say you are interested for info at universal crowds for end of January to early February??

it has been awhile since i went in that time period and at that time, found it to be fine for lower crowds.
i quit going to orlando in those months due to the headaches of travel from the northern aiports due to weather issues.

any weekend that has a holiday on the friday or monday, changes that crowd pattern.

go to the parks on the weekdays to avoid crowds.
weekends brings more peeps to the park.

in case you do not get many responses here about seaworld, i suggest you read the Sea World forum section.
check out some of the trip reports of the past to get an idea of the late january/early february trips others have had.
