Garden view rooms at the Grand Floridian
We're going back to the Grand Floridian for the first time in a few years. We have garden view booked, and we're going with my parents. My mom would prefer not to face a pool because she's worried about noise - does anyone know which buildings might have a garden view that would face a courtyard or landscaping and not the parking lot or the back of another building? Thanks.

Sago garden views are of the marina or the back side of the lagoon/monorail. There are some Sago garden views on the back side of the building that have a view of the Convention Center - less than desirable. You could request Sago marina view - which is a GV category - and hope for that! And remember, if you're not happy with your rooms, speak up right away and the GF will do whatever it can to remedy the situation. Have a grand trip!

I stayed in the sago with the marina view. It was wonderful and quiet. I miss being there. I have only been home for 6 days

I'll just add that I've been in garden view rooms that faced the pool several times at GF, and never had a problem with noise. The main (most crowded) pool is on the other side of the beach, and therefore a bit removed from the resort buildings. The quiet pool is right in the middle of the central courtyard, but I don't ever recall hearing much, if any, noise.

I agree about Sago Cay marina view if your mother doesn't want to face a pool. Conch Key also has rooms that face the marina. Perhaps just request marina view. If your request is granted, you will not face a parking lot nor a pool.
However, I'm with Lynne. The one room we've had that faced the pool was not loud at all. Have fun!

I stayed in Conch last WDW visit and we faced the marina! Beautiful and peaceful, but I think that whole building would be away from a lot of pool noise!

As others have said, you could request Sago, Marina view, but I don't think that any of the buildings around the Courtyard Pool would be loud, based on my experience there. That means you could request Boca Chica also....

Thanks for all your kind replies
. I think I'll ask for the marina view at either Conch or Sago Key and see what happens. I have no problem with a pool view, in fact I like that - but my parents are treating us to this trip so I'm happy to be accomodating!

Stayed in Boca Chica in Sept and had a really pretty view of the quiet pool. I've always been concerned with the noise, if having a pool view anywhere. We never heard any outside noise while in the room. Even when sitting on those pretty balconies, it was pleasant. Noise was not an issue at all. The view both during the day and at night was beautiful!

If noise is a problem I would not worrie about the pool but about joining doors.
If your neighbors are noisy it could be very disturbing for your mother. |
