Easter

I have been reading threads on going over spring break/easter and have come to the conclusion that it's a very busy time.

Are the actual holiday days (Good Friday - Easter Monday) busier than the rest of the week of Easter?

I guess what I'm asking is would it be better to do a long weekend over Easter (Fri-Mon) or do a during the week visit (Mon-Thurs)?

Any tips on making the best of a super busy weekend like that?

We've done WDW twice during Easter Week. The weekend of Easter is the busiest. During the week before Easter, the crowds build all week. During the week after Easter, it's very busy Monday and Tuesday and Wed and even Thursday, but I think the crowds started to thin on Friday. Sat and Sunday after Easter were quite nice. There were park closings on the Mon and Tues of our visit one Year.

On both years, we visited Florida family over Easter weekend and checked in to our resort on Monday,

Don't be afraid of Easter week, though. We enjoyed it. We'd get to the park early (I think MK opened at 7am to onsite guests) and go home at lunch and relax at the resort and come back in the evening. On Tues, we'd go to a park in the morning, have lunch and go to a water park after 2 (when everyone would be leaving.)
