What time does luggage arrive at your room?
I'm sure this has been asked before but here goes...
On the Eastern navigators, I noticed that it says that the luggage will be at your stateroom by 6:30 pm. What do you do for dinner attire if you have early seating?! Does this mean you have to take your clothes in your carry on bag? How do you stop it from getting wrinkled? What about hairbrushes, makeup, shoes? |

Most luggage arrives by 5, but it can arrive any time between 1:30 and 6:30. If your luggage doesn't arrive before dinner, wear the clothes you wore to board. The first night is especially casual. However, it is very likely that you'll have your luggage.
Be sure anything you NEED like meds are in your carry on. Also, consider swimsuits in the carry on along with clean undies! As soon as the staterooms are opened to guests (1:30), the room stewards tend to getting the luggage delivered as quickly as they can. Prior to that time, it has been organized in a holding area to make their delivery process as smooth as possible. Last edited by kcashner; 11-15-2009 at 09:03 PM. |

I have been on 4 cruises and my luggage has always arrived before we even leave port. I would say by 3:00. I always arrive early to the port (around 11:30) as I like to be there and on the ship as soon as possible.

More than likely you will have everything in time for dinner, but it never hurts to be prepared. On our last cruise we had one bag with all of our shoes in it that was delivered to the wrong cabin. We were about to wear our Crocs to dinner when the other travelers delivered the bag to our cabin.
As the other posters have stated don't worry about it too much. You won't be out of place coming to dinner in what you wore onto the ship. If you like you can always have the essentials in your carry-on bag that stays with you until your cabin is open at 1:30. |

In 5 cruises, I don't recall our luggage ever arriving later than 4 o'clock or so...it's usually always there right around 1:30, but always by the conclusion of the safety drill....

We got our luggage by 2:00 before we even left port. It was very fast although all the luggage you bring doesn't all come at the same time because all of it is on different bags and stuff maybe.

But I thought that there was a "no shorts" policy on the Magic. If we wear shorts on board, can we wear them to dinner?

And the first evening is far more casual than any other. Yes, you can wear shorts the first night if that's what you have available. However, the vast majority of the time, our luggage is there before the safety drill. Do not panic if 2 bags arrive and one doesn't--number 3 will arrive in a bit. |

We've only had one time where our bags didn't arrive before early seating for dinner. Luckily, due to this wonderful forum
dh had packed a pair of casual slacks in the carry on. As the other posters said it is more casual the first night (esp. 1st seating) perhaps because of this possibility.

We cruised in August and my parents bags didn't arrive until we were leaving for dinner (early seating), however my bag had arrived earlier and we were sharing a room; so it's possible they won't arrive.

I feel fortunate then that in 6 cruises, I have been totally unpacked before the sail away party.
