Tusker House character breakfast review
Tusker House character breakfast, pros and cons. i read the reviews on the review page (some were pretty old) and seemed about 50-50, some loved it with great service, others hated it, terrrible service. so which has been your experience lately? we have it planned for one morning but i would like to go to MK instead. i dont want to waste a whole morning in Fantasy Land for a bad experience waiting for characters. if its a good character experience then its definitely worth it. we have 3 small kids, 5yr old DD and twin 3 yr old DS so characters are a big deal, but so is MK. any recent info/reviews really appreciated.
thanks, mikewdw

We went on Tuesday and loved it! I don't know what they put in their scrambled eggs (should have asked) but they were incredible! Danishes were moist and delicious, fruit was fresh and sweet. Really, everything was wonderful! The characters were great too. They went by a little quickly, but I think that was more because DD was terrified of them. She loved Donald when we were at WDW in July at 8 mos, and now at 1 yr, she was scared to death!
Anyway, I loved Tusker House, it will definitely be on our list in the future! I preferred this meal to the Crystal Palace breakfast. |

We ate there last month, and it was a great experience. The food was really fresh and good. Loved the potatoes, ham, and scrambled eggs. They do a little parade and dance around the restaurant, so that did make it a little tricky to go up for more food for a while.
Donald Duck does not go thru the restaurant, but you get your picture taken with him outside. But you will get to meet Daisy! We had a great time at Tusker House. I highly recommend it! |

Everyone in our house would automatically say, do it. The Tusker Breakfast is a must do for us every visit, except this next one as there are no available spots.
We have no complaints about anything from our meal. The food was great, our waiter was very personable and kept up with our drink re-fills, and the characters were good. Even for as crowded and busy as the place was, each person at every table was given attention by each character. I highly recommend doing the breakfast at the Tusker House!!!!

I thought the food was fairly good. DH who strongly dislikes buffets and breakfast thought it was good. Our service left much to be desired. Because we only had two, we were seated at a small table which would have been fine except our server did not clear our plates until shortly before we were ready to leave. She also did not bring us refills on our drinks. That being said, it was a fun breakfast with better than average food. The characters make the buffet. I thought the character interaction was good but would have liked to skip the mandatory wait for a picture with Donald outside the building. Everyone we interacted with was pleasant.

We ate there last week, the food was very good, hot and tasty no complaints there, but the character interaction, the only way I can describe it is "vroom" you might be able to get one picture but if someone has their eyes closed, too bad, the character has moved on to the next table, forget about video taping. We finished eating before we saw the first character, so that is good in one aspect, you can stay at your table without getting up and missing Daisy but the flip side is, if you are ready to go, you have to wait for the last character to come by.

It's one of our favorite meals on property. Food is excellent, so was service. Yes the characters are rushed but for breakfast that is how we like it...we do the first ADR and like to be done by rope drop. We are doing it again next trip...can't wait!

I hate the idea of only having our picture with Donald if we buy the photo they take. While their photographer is taking a picture, do they let you take one too with your own camera?

We ate there in June and we all LOVED it. Best character meal for us! Food was excellent...something for everyone. The characters are fantastic (Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Daisy) in their safari outfits. Service was excellent...the coffee and jungle juice were great. We booked it again for our Dec trip.

I liked Tusker House a lot. Not because of the character interaction though, that seemed rushed and we were there right at 8:00. The food was very good! VERY GOOD! We loved it and we loved being right out in front of the safari for rope drop and being on one of the first few trucks to go through that morning.
BUT, we're not going back. We don't park hop and we will not be going back to AK anytime soon. We are huge animal lovers (we own a small farm with horses, goats etc and spend a lot of time at horse shows and watch a lot of nature television) but we don't enjoy AK very much. We have tried really hard to like it but we don't. We're doing (GASP!) Universal instead of AK this time. If it was up to me I would go to Magic Kingdom over AK anytime, the only character you can't find elsewhere is Daisy. So if she's super important to you go, but otherwise go to Chef Mickey and MK or Crystal Palace and see Pooh and Friends. I do have pictures if that will help. Our walk to Africa in the a.m. ![]() ![]() ![]() Quiche and potatoes ![]() croissant and mealie pap (yummy) ![]() More quiche and potatoes with a Mickey waffle (YUM!) a cheese blintz with cherry sauce (very yum!) ![]() Muffin and fruit for my littlest DD, she was in heaven. Muf-muf and fruit is her very favorite thing in the whole world!

I would recommend it -- our family ate there for the first time this last trip. We weren't really expecting to get in (no ADR and just asked if there was a wait...turns out the twenty minute wait was only five minutes lol!) but it was a really great breakfast. Our server was very nice, always kept our drinks full and cleared our plates quickly. I loved the vegetable frittata and everything was delicious -- DS enjoyed the kid's selections but he's not hard to please lol! Just give him a Mickey waffle and he's all set

Yes. In our case they offered to take the photo for us with my camera so we could all get in the photo.

We love the food here. The place is awfully noisy and the character interaction is rushed but the food is very good.

Our favorite breakfast! It's a "must do" for us every year. The food is great, the service and character interaction is good. The only complaint I can offer is that it is very crowded.
