Location of Pirate rooms at CBR
Where are the pirate rooms located at CBR? Are they in what would be considered a preferred location or would you have to pay for the water view pirate room to be in a good location? We are taking my parents along this time, and they will want to be closer to OPR so they can go eat breakfast early early every morning before we're ready to go. The boys would love the pirate rooms, but if it is going to be a long walk for the GPs, we'll sacrifice and go normal preferred rooms.
TIA!!

I just changed my reservation to a preferred room at CBR after reading all the reviews about the size of the resort. I believe the Pirate rooms are in the village located the farthest from OPR. It is Trinidad North or South, whichever is the one that is not preferred. However, I think I have seen somewhere tht there is internal trnsportation. Maybe someone can verify that.

All the Pirate rooms are in Trinidad South. If you want to be in a room close to the food court and main pool you would need to be booked in a preferred room. That would be Trinidad North or several building in Martinique.
If you want to take your chances you could request Aruba 51 or Jamaica 45. It is a short walk across the bridge to the main pool and food court.

When I booked my room, the reservationist was very helpful. I asked for a standard room and she took the time to explain to me that CBR is the largest resort and there would be a lot of walking involved with a preferred room. She then asked if I wanted to request Jamaica since it is the closest standard village to the feature pool, so I took her advise. After reading reviews I got freaked out about the time we would spend walking so I changed my reservation to preferred.

There is less walking with a preferred room. Jamaica or Aruba are the closest standard rooms.

Pirate rooms at CBR
I stayed in the Pirate rooms at CBR in May. We loved them. If you stay in them request building 36 or 37. We had a first floor room and it was mere steps from the bus stop. We drive to Disney so we have a car, so when we felt like going to the pool or food court we drove down to Old Port Royal and parked. We did walk to and it was not bad. I really did love the theme of the resort and it was really beautiful. My kids swam at the feature pool some but one day I took them to the quiet pool right behind our building and they were just as happy getting to swim. I hope this helps. A lot of people think walking around the resort is a bad thing. I like it and it is beautiful if you like to run like my DH does.

We stayed in a pirate room in March and really enjoyed it...Trinidad South. CBR is a huge resort but we were very happy with Disney transportation...lots of busses. We never had to walk far at the resort but we made up for it at the parks!

I stayed there in Feb, with a water view. The rooms were nice, but I would never stay there again. Too far of a walk to Port Royal. It is also the last stop on the buses to drop off and pick up.
The Pirate rooms is a gimic to sell poorly positioned rooms.

I'm also debating about the Pirate rooms. My youngest (*) would love it but also would be the 1st to complain about the long walk. CBR is the only moderate we haven't been to yet so I'm still mulling it over.

This is why I am hesitant to book the pirate rooms. We have stayed in Trin South countless times (and loved it) but I really want to try another village!

As posted above the pirate rooms are in Trinidad South. They are in my opinion a little disconnected. I think they were trying to make these rooms a little more desirable. I think if the kids would enjoy them it might be worth the bit of a walk for the experience.
