confuddled??? new offers on old booking?

I have already booked a 5 nights in feb with free meals in sante fe,
with all the talk of sante fe in last week or so, i wanted to see how much more cheyenne was.
Free meals is no longer showing on the website for these dates for any hotel.. there is 30% off deal instead...

if i rang up would i be able to upgrade and keep free meals?
also.....
the price is

£179 less.... so if i had booked now.. no meals would be £179 less then.. free meals.. i know the free meals makes up this cost.. but

just to have a think about it...

If i decided i would rather book without free meals.. how would i go about it? would i have to rebook on credit card, then they would refund me.. would thet charge me? as i am still rebooking for same dates etc??

i hope you understand what i mean.... i am not sure i do.. haha

You would have to ring them to cancel and then email them to confirm cancellation, they will then refund you, not sure how long that would take though.

thank you...
we have just looked at prices.. and seq lodge would be £10 more then what we paid for free meals.. am wondering whether...... this might be a better choice..... or cheyenne then its about £120 less...

partly.... because milo (2) is NOT good at sitting down to eat..and although i am not worried about lunchtimes, i am worried the evening meals might be more stress then they are worth! as i have been evry ill with stomach ulcer.... so am worried about being stressed while eating... and maybe grabbing sandwich.. mc donalds.. might be more ... kid friendly and ulcer friendly.. haha... i know in total we will spend a little more..

ommmm...decisions...!!!

to give better idea
original cost
£594 free meals santa fe

now...

£415 santa fe
£473 cheyenne
???

You will also lose 10% of your original booking as a cancellation fee if you cancel one offer and go for another one (so that would be £59.40 Disney would keep of your original Santa Fe booking).

anyone? if i upgraded to cheyenne with no meals, which is technically less money.. would i get refunded the extra and not have to pay cancellation?

Its a different deal Holly, you're not upgrading as such. You're choosing a new hotel on a new offer, so you'll be charged the cancellation fee. If the Cheyenne was on your original offer (free meals) that would be classed as an upgrade, and so you wouldn't be charged a cancellation fee - you'd be paying the difference instead.

Best to phone Disney though, to check it all out.

We tried to change our booking when the 40% offer came in two days after booking a 10 day stay, we were told (by two different cast members) that we would lose our 10% deposit, as this was almost £400 we decided against it.

oh no!!!!! that must have been an awful shock! esp for a ten day stay.... oh... would love to go for ten days! hehe. i am happy enough to keep what i have.. its only because i am worried i wont be able to eat... and vouchers will get wasted... as i have been in and out of hospital with my stomach ulcers lately.. and am finding eating really hard work!

The Santa Fe really isn't that bad now i think about it.....I think i was pretty harsh with the comments i have said before. The theming isnt my taste but to be honest we really was only there to sleep.

I think if it came down to being able to go for a bargain price or not going at all i think i would suck it up and stay there again.

hehehe.... no you wouldnt! hahahaah
i am not too worried about sante fe, if i get an awful room, i will whinge and stamp my feet and hopefully get an upgrade

just was a shock to see prices £179 cheaper!! esp when i am not sure how essential the free meals vouchers are going to be! haha, but i will prob just end up sticking with my orginal booking now.. and not check again! haha

personally id keep the free meals as i find youd spend more if you bought the meals than the saving on your holiday.

also youve been to santa fe before from your nov 08 tr? so you must like it to have booked it again

The free dining has been extended to the 15th December and the website does now have both offers running.
On the landing page, there are 2 red circles, one is a red Mickey balloon, click that one to go through the 30% discount and the red circle with white border next to it to got through to the free dining offer.
(I did them both the other day to see if I could combine both offers, worth a try.)

So there won't be a problem upgrading your free meals package to another hotel, but if you want the 30% offer instead, as mentioned by previous posters you'll have to cancel and rebook.

Hope that helps.

hey there!

yeah I reckon now NO matter what deal you go for...or upgrade you ARE going to get charged 10%..

I worked mine out...

1. I originally booked 6 days cheyenne WITH halfboard....no offers

2. They took out the free meals, I decided to cancel and rebook...I got charged 10% on the hotel and the halfboard...after everything I got £40 refund...so still 'happy'

3. Worked it out last night, I can get the Sequioa for £143 LESS than I paid but with NO food...mind you will be charged £87 to cancel..so not really a good deal.

4. If I stay where I am with the offer I have (free lunches and dinners) I will in effect be 'paying' £30 for 4 people to have lunches for the whole stay..5nights 6 days....so still a better deal for me. (calculated on the fact I WOULD have bought halfboard seperately)

So I guess what I'm saying is work out what you are to eat..ie lunches and dinners....if you think you can do it cheaper buying seperately PLUS add in your 10% cancellation...then cancel and rebook, if not then I would seriously stay with what you have..... its nice knowing you don't have to keep money back for meals etc and the money you take can be spend on what ever you like....but hey thats just my opinion.. everyone has different priorities...I thnk its Emma that said the free meals for her are not worth it..which I can understand...

As for staying at the Santa Fe, I can totally understand you feel abit scared after some of the posts on here..no wonder...I WOULD feel freaked out too, especially the one with the beasties in it...what the heck is that about? But hand on heart if for me if meant getting charged 10% to cancel the deal to get an upgrade I would take my chances...the room we had in october was brill, we were realy happy happy with it and the reason we chose cheyenne this time was because it wasn't that much dearer, if it was we would have stayed at santa fe.

at the end of the day its only you that can decide what you prefer..free meals, upgraded hotel....maybe phone up disney and just enquire about price ad take it from there hun???

good luck and let us know what you decide to do....

edited to say...just read you might be able to upgrade without cancelling as you can still get free meals?????? I say go for that for peace of mind!!!haha!! xxx
