Are they still having the Welcome just before park opening every day at MK where the characters arrive by train and sing and dance?

The full welcome show is done on certin days of the week, because there are some days when they just do a minor welcome show.

That was the full show. The minor show is when the family of the day comes out by themselves without the characters, plus there is no singing or dancing Cast Members.

And sometimes the train doesn't quite make it... That happened to us once. The CMs were singing and ready for the train, and Mickey was talking to us over the loudspeaker, but the train was nowhere to be seen. They covered well, but if you knew what was supposed to happen, it was a little disappointing. Can't be too mad though, technical difficulties weren't going to ruin our day.

Wow, I wasn't aware that there was a full and minor show. All the times that I have seen the show (which was a lot of times) it was with the singing and dancing, characters, train, the mayor talking, and the Family of the Day counting down....never knew of the other one.

We have an ADR at 8:05 at CP. Does this mean we'll probably miss the show or is there usually time to get back out to see it?

Thanks Robo! That's too bad. It rained last time we went to MK so they didn't run it. So, here's my follow up question - we do have a second day scheduled at MK later that week and we're doing the Steam Train Tour - if the train is involved in the opening, will we be on the train or will we be able to see the opening?
