Just back- Bay Lake Tower. Any Questions?
Hello,We're just back from 5 nights at Bay Lake Tower. I'd be happy to answer any questions. We thouroughly enjoyed it. The location is great, and the accomodations were very confortable. We had a 1br facing the Contemporary pool and Marina. Nice view of Bay Lake. Very quiet except for the nightly water parade at 10PM that woke up some of the family. Master BR was very comfortable. The fold out couch in the LR was MUCH more comfortable than others I've slept on, and the fold out chair (twin bed size) was a very nice addition. The room layout made very good use of the space...it seemed larger than other 1br's we've stayed in. Bathroom doors DO NOT have locks (slide shut). DVC needs to do something about this !! The BLT pool area has a single pool with a water slide (kids loved it), a hot tub and a fountain area for the smaler kids. Snack bar/bar area that sold all kinds of drinks and light food (sandwich and salads). Had 2 lifeguards on duty most of the time. The pool area required a room key (card reader) to insure that only BLT guest were using. Top of the world: Went three times, and loved it. I video taped wishes one of the nights. There is an incredible view from up there. Only BLT guests staying on points can access TOTW. You need to check-in in the lobby, and they will walk you down the hall to a special elevator and the CM will use a special card key to allow access to the 16th floor. TOTW holds 499 people. During Wishes there were no more than 80 people up there...and as soon as the fireworks were over....there were only 15 people left. The other 2 visits, there were no more than 20 people (including Monday night football). TOTW has a full bar, big screen TV, and a quiet atmosphere. We loved it. If there are any questions I can answer...I'd be happy to help.

Did you find it easy checking in at the Contemporary and walking over to Bay Lake Tower?

Yes, it was very easy.
I had checked in on-line before arriving. They had my welcome package (and room) ready when we arrived at 11:00 am. There was no line for any of the other CM's at the check-in area. The walk form CR lobby to BLT is very short....You actually walk past the bus stop area. Also...we had a rental car. Parking right outside the BLY building was VERY easy. Only a short walk to the front door.

AR81,
To access TOTW you nned to be a DVC member, AND using points for your stay. You need to present your room key to the CM in the lobby. They check to confirm your status, and then walk you down the hallway to the elevator. They are strict on the access. I observed them turning away a few other guests who were not using points for their stay.
