Jack Skellington Haunted Mansion Holiday - The DIS Discussion Forums

Hi, I'm going for my first Christmas Holiday visit to the Magic Kingdom, Dec 3rd.

Do they have the Haunted Mansion Decorated in the Disneyland style with
Jack Skellinton ?

WDW does not do the Jack Skellington theme. I do wish they would, however.

From Disneyland site :

"During the holiday season, feel a festive chill as a whole new crew of fun-loving spooks — led by Jack Skellington — haunts the mansion's hallowed halls during Haunted Mansion Holiday."

From Halloween thru Christmas its all decorated with Nightmare Before Christmas, Jack Skellington and the rest of the characters thru out the Mansion. Quite fun if you're a Nightmare Before Christmas fan.

And yes, I did get tickets to go to MVMCP on Dec 3rd, it'll be my first Christmas time at the Magic Kingdom ! !

The way it was explained to me, that is, why Disneyland does several re-theming projects and Walt Disney World doesn't, is because DL is a "Locals" park, whereas WDW is more of a "Tourists" park.

On any given day at DL you will almost certainly find more Californian's (or at least Americans from Western States) than tourists. On the other hand, on any given day at WDW you will almost certainly find far more tourists than you will Floridians.

In other words, most visitors to DL are return visitors, perhaps even local residents, who enjoy seeing the changes and re-theming of rides, while WDW has a far greater number of visitors who may well be on the only Disney trip they will ever have in their life. Those people want to see the classics, not a re-themed ride.

So most of us on The DIS are frequent visitors and may enjoy re-themed rides and attractions, the fact is, we are in the minority.

The PP is correct. For one it is costly to do.Second, there is no way WDW with the amount of 1st time only visitors and world tourists it gets will shut the HM for weeks to set it up than weeks to tear it down.

I wish they would do something also. NBC is one of my favorite movies and I have a huge collection of things. Even if it wasn't in the Haunted Mansion, I wish they would do something somewhere. HS would be a perfect place since it's a movie. They have several places in HS where they sell NBC stuff. Maybe a stage show where Sounds Dangerous is. I would love that. Even just characters to meet would be great.

I know what you mean, we love Nightmare Before Christmas at my house (the new blu-ray version is awesome). My daughter especially wishes they would incorporate the characters from NBC into MK like they do at DL -or at least at HS.

The NBC re-themeing is awesome. It's one of the things I love about this time of year at DL and miss now that I'm back east. Wish I could get back there soon!!!

I like NBC, but personally am glad WDW does not do the overlay.It would shut HM down for weeks at a time to set it up and then weeks again to take it down.HM is one of the things I like best about WDW and to have it missing a big chunk of time of the year would be disappointing
