Help please - Digital Camera for my mom
I am trying to weed through the reviews of digital cameras. I am looking through the black Friday ads, and I need help.
I want to buy my mom a digital camera for Christmas. I would like to spend < $150. Mom needs a point and shoot with a fast shutter speed. I would like for it to be a 10M.. since she likes to blow up pictures. I am looking through the black Friday ads, then trying to find the customer reviews...and I am having a hard time finding anything about shutter speed. It is hard to take little one's pictures with a slow shutter. By the time she clicks the camera that she has... the kiddo has moved on her ![]() Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks ETA: And she doesn't want one that is bulky. One that can fit in her pocket. Thanks!

I have been looking through the ads myself for a camera around the same price. I searched for reviews of many of them, and the one that got the best reviews is the canon powershot sd1200. It is selling for $149 on BF, I think it's at Best Buy.

I'd suggest going to Best Buy, Target and Walmart and looking at the cameras in store. Asking which one's have the best shutter speed, then go home and read the reviews.
Truthfully, though, your DM problem may not be her camera. With digital cameras sometimes the problem is not the shutter speed, but the read write speed on the digital media (card) that you have. If you have a slow card then the time that it takes to snap the pictures is slower. I found this out when I went to Ritz to buy an SD card. The guy at the camera store was really helpful asking me what types of photos I'd be taking, etc before recommending a card.
