Budget hotlel near Disney with Shuttle

I am looking for a budget, just a room with 2 beds and a pool, hotel near disney for a stay for a friend and I from Feb. 10-17...We don't really want to have to rent a car since it's just the two of us..If anyone can recommend one I'd be very appreciative! TIA

Just about every hotel in Orlando has some sort of shuttle service to the parks, I would call and ask for specifics. You can also bid through Priceline or, if you don't like to leave your location up to fate, you can book directly through them for a price that isn't as good as bidding but better than you would get through the hotel.

The economy stinks and there are no signs it's going to get better anytime soon. You won't have any problems finding a deal.

ok thank you..i did not realize that most of them have shuttles, i thought only a certain few did..i was looking at priceline tonight before i posted this and thought the rates right through them weren't really that high..Now if i use priceline do i have to pay for the hotel all upfront? Or is it just an advance dep(paying the first night at time of res and then paying the rest when we get there) Or is that only if we bid on it? I'm tempted to try and bid for a lower price but I realized tonight that is also Daytona 500 weekend so i don't know if that will affect things..thanks so much!

Either way you use Priceline, bid or direct buy, you have to pay immediately. Daytona Beach has their own hotels. Some people will combine the 2 events but you should still be able to get a good room at a fair price in Orlando.

Be very careful using outside hotels shuttle buses. They arent very good at all. Spend the money and rent a car.

I've had some luck with Expedia packages. I booked a two bedroom condo for 12 nights, a rental car, and airfare for two roundtrip from Chicago for just under $1200 for early December. They had much shorter stays available, of course. Just like Priceline, you do pay everything up front. With the package I purchased, I can cancel everything EXCEPT the airfare under well disclosed terms, which are quite resonable. Do read the fine print thoroughly before submitting your payment.

The Lynx buses are another option. If you choose your accomodations on one of the direct bus routes, you will probably have a lot more flexability than with the hotel or paid shuttle options. Go to http://golynx.com, pick the Schedules and Maps link, then check out routes 50, 56, and the 111 which goes from the airport to Downtown Disney and the Ticket & Transportation Center where you can catch a Disney bus to any park. The website says that a 7 Day pass is $16.00 per person. What a bargain! If you are accustomed to using mass transit, this is a good option.

If this is a big issue for you, you should really consider booking at a value in WDW on a room only reservation -- you only have to pay for the first night. And they do have the best transportation system.

But if you really want to stay off-site, check out some of the rates posted by Dreams Unlimited Travel:

You really can't go wrong with any of the resorts that they post.

I've never had to use mass transit since we do not have it where I live...but thanks for the tip
