Algae, us and the Bash on the Boat - Day 6

The night ended late last night for both of us, so as a result we made sure to set the alarm to wake them this morning.

Breakfast, as usual was in Topsiders Buffet, but only after stopping by guest relations for a spare Navigator. As we pass Lumiere’s we notice that Angie and her family have just taken their seats for breakfast, so we wave at them through the window. Granola, fruit and a cup of tea for me and Rick has a cooked breakfast (he doesn’t have this often at home, I won't let him). Di and Chris, join us whilst we are eating.

At 9.30am Di and I make our way down to Animators Palette for Scrapbooking and Rick says he will find a nice spot on deck 9 for an hour. It was not one of the best classes that I have attended, no direction or suggestion. It seems just an opportunity for DCL to sell some scrapbook items and also get more return cruise bookings.

Later after scrapbooking I find Rick in a comfortable spot by the pool with his book open, but his eyes closed. How long he’s been reading chapter 2, I wonder?

There is a Castaway Club reception in Studio Sea at 11.00am for Gold and Platinum members which we attend. They have their photo taken with Mickey and listen to Captain Tom welcoming them all back. A special announcement was supposed to be made, but the video equipment isn't working, so a further reception is to be arranged.

After the reception I want to purchase some items from the shop and so we walk along deck 4 to Treasure Ketch and Mickey's Mates. I want to make the most of the $25 refund that we receive for being Gold members. After we drop off our purchases in the cabin and as breakfast was a good 3 hours ago, we decide to look for a snack to keep us going until dinner time. Unsure what to do Dario their server, who is on deck 9 this lunchtime suggests Lumieres, but we just want a quick snack, then Topsiders buffet is the place to go.

We meet up with Sean and Cath from the UK and spend an enjoyable hour with them, putting the world to rights. As we have missed the talk in the Buena Vista theatre at 1.00pm, we make ourselves comfortable in some chairs on deck 9 until the smoothie meet at 3.00pm in Cove Cafe. At the meet I have a coffee, whilst Rick has a chocolate smoothie. This causes a shock as this is meant to be a strawberry smoothy meet.

The first trivia game is at 4.30pm in the Promenade Lounge and 8 members of the BOB’ers make up a team. They don’t do so bad with a score of 17/25. The winning team got 19/25. Who knew that Ray Charles was a chess master and that Laura Bush wore a red dress to her husbands inaugural ball?

Dinner tonight was in Animators Palette with the Showtime menu. The restaurant changes starts out black and white and ends up changing colour throughout the meal. Sorcerer Mickey tops of the meal with a visit to the restaurant.

We decided to watch the show after all in the Walt Disney Theatre, even though we have seen Twice Charmed a couple of times now.

Once the show was over we had an hour to kill before the adult show in Rockin’ Bar D. We end up missing the show as we have a chat with Chris and Hazel in Diversions. Once back in the cabin…. a towel elephant greets us with tomorrows navigator and port information sheet. An early night for us tonight….we just have to set the alarm after we have got our bags ready for the morning.

I wish I could fall asleep sitting upright, would make economy seats on the return leg so much easier. Nice day.
