2 bedroom villa

We have never stayed in a 2 bedroom villa. I thought I remembered reading somewhere there is a 2 br villa and a dedicated 2 br villa. What is the difference?

A dedicated 2 BR villa is one that can only be a 2 BR villa. Hence it has only 1 entrance door. Also the 2nd bedroom doesn't have a kitchen setup.

A "2BR Villa" is also referred to as a "lock-off". It is a 1 BR villa plus a connecting studio that are combined into a 2 BR villa. In this case, you will have 2 entrance doors, one for each 1/2 and also the 2nd bedroom will have a kitchenette.

Generally, though not always, a two bedroom dedicated has two queens in the second bedroom (the exception is BCV where some dedicateds have 2Qs and some have a Q and a sofabed). The lockoff generally has a queen and a sofabed (OKW does not have sofabeds in any second bedrooms).

A lockoff will have a second entry to the hallway and a kitchenette. A dedicated will not have a kitchenette and no hallway door.

BWV only has lockoffs.

Just my opinion, but I always ask for the lock off when we get the 2 bedroom so that way the other family that goes with us can have their own entrance into the room. Our kids sleep on the sofa in the livingroom, so it is nice not to have to wake them in the night, or early morning if we are not doing the parks together. Just something to keep in mind. Also, the lockoff has a small fridge so they can keep drinks in their room for nighttime raids.

This was my exact thought process when booking a 2 bedroom lock off at the GCV this morning.
