? For anyone who stayed in a AKV Grand Villa.

Is there anyone who has possibly stayed at both Grand Villas at AKV that can tell me which one they liked better? I'm thinking Jambo would be the way to go since there is no upstairs and I'll have little ones traveling with me and I won't have to worry about them falling down them. But the upstairs might be nice for the family staying with us to be away from the little ones that will stay with us downstairs. Oye I never thought I'd have a problem with picking out a Grand Villa LOL.

We have a grand villa booked in AKV for April and we decided on Jambo mainly due to the 1 floor layout. My dad is handicapped (and having significant issues right now so very thankful we chose Jambo) so we figured the 1 floor layout would work best for him.

We also like the fact that Jambo has all the restaurants, we figured that would keep us and the kids busy.

I think the Jambo GVs also have pool tables where the Kidani GVs don't...

I have not stayed in either. I have been in and through a Jambo GV. Hands down the best GV I have seen even over the BWV one-story. You have huge living area and huge balconies that run the length of the GV.

We just completed a 10 night stay in a Kidani GV.
All I can say is... HOLY MOLY!!!
Themed to the 9's, huge, and well laid out. They really outdid themselves.

I will be happy to answer any specific questions.

Thank you for your responses! We actually went with booking the GV in Jambo because it's only one floor. My son who is 8 wks now will be 1yr at that time and if he takes after his sister he should be walking by then. We'll also be traveling with my DH grandma so not having the second floor is probably best.
I'm totally excited and can't wait to go. Come on September 2010!!!

I'm sure you'll love Jambo

We stayed there and it was awesome. Wait till you see the master bath. There's a tv in there and a walk in closet with dresser. The kids loved the pool table along with the adults! Since we had a large group it was very nice to have the dining room table large enough for all of us.

OMG 10 DAYS!!! I would LOVE to go for that long in a GV!! How many of you were there in the villa? We're going with probably 10 adults and 2 children under 3. Did anyone sleep on the pull outs and if so were they comfortable? I have one teenager who will be on a pull out and I'd hate for him to be completely miserable cause he can't sleep well. I know you stayed in the Kidani GV do you think the Jambo will look as nice? Kidani is so new. We booked the GV without telling our family we did it. They all know we're doing a family vacation in September, but they all figure we're getting value resorts rooms. We want this to be a nice surprise. Any good pointers you might have I'm all ears. I want to make the most out of our trip.

We had a Vero cottage for four days before AKV!
We had as many as nine adults at a time, but usually less because family was coming and going on their individual schedules.

My sister and my niece slept on the loft pullout, and they said it was very comfortable. There is also another pullout in the living room.

The stairs didn't seem to be a big deal unless someone in your party has a disability.

I think the decor will be about the same, except for the branch style railing on the loft. That really enhanced the theming IMO. The Great-Room with the floor to ceiling window over looking the savanna was also great, and gave the loft area a nice view of the savanna.

I believe the Jambo GV is slightly larger, but the 2-story adds a extra level of grandeur in my opinion.

I have stayed in the Jambo House Gv. It was nice not having to deal with the stairs. There is also a door to the hallway to the second set of bedrooms that shuts the area off from the rest of the GV. This area also had a door to the hallway so late nighters could come in and not really distrub anyone. We were in the H/C GV that was very close to the elevator that took us right down by the pool area and the pool bar. From there a very very short walk to Mara. The master suite is amazing. In the evening the pool table got a work out. You will be blown away by the balcony. I spent every morning out there drinking my coffee and every evening just relaxing and watching the animals while enjoying a orange dreamsicle from the pool bar.
