Room at the back of the boat...

We just booked a room on the Dream and our room is at the back of the boat. Has anyone stayed on the back of the ship?? I am just wondering if it is really rocky? WE normally stay in the middle of the ship.

We did our cruise almost 2 years ago and we were the 4 room from the back. It was not too rocky, a bit more than what was in the middle. The main times we felt it being in hte back was on the way back to home port, the Captain was booking it back and we were going against the current. The other time was when we were getting into port we hear the engines alot and that was good since we used that as our second wake up call. We were cat 9 if I remember right.

We have stayed Aft on our last three cruises and felt no more motion than anywhere else on the ship we have been.

With the Dream, no one yet has been on her and some of the aft cabins face out back instead of to the side so no one really knows how motion will be felt yet on that ship.

We were aft on Deck 8 for our 1st cruise, and midship on deck 8 for our last cruise. We definitely had more motion in the midship cabin than we had in the aft cabin, which I attributed to being on the side midship, rather than being more centered in the aft cabin.

We did feel more engine effects aft, even being up on Deck 8. When they reversed the engines to pull into a port, the vibrations were an interesting wake up call!
