Less dressed Dress up for Palo on the Wonder vs Magic
Our only frame of reference is the Disney Magic. At Palo’s I wore a suit and tie as did most others. A very few men wore a tuxedo and a few wore sport coats and a very few wore no jacket. I wore the same suit on formal night.
Now that I have leaned that the Wonder has no formal night I’m considering not packing a suit, but then what about that Palo’s dinner? ![]() If I wore Dockers, dress shoes, a dress shirt and tie to Palo’s on the wonder would I be in the majority or minority? I do not own a sport coat; I’m just not the type that likes to wear a sport coat. My choices are suit or no suit and I have a goal of packing less. Per Disney’s website “Dress Code: At dinner, a dress shirt or jacket is required to be worn for men and a dress or pantsuit is required to be worn by women. No jeans allowed. At brunch and high tea, attire is cruise casual, meaning no shorts, jeans, swimwear or tank tops.” http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/sh...m/dining/palo/ Specifically I am asking what most men wear to dinner at Palo’s on the Wonder.

The last time we had dinner at Palo on the Wonder, I wore Dockers and a dress shirt, no tie. There were several other men dressed pretty much the same way, but there were some in suits. It did seem a little more casual than on the Magic, but still very nice.

I was in Palo's Nov. 3, 2009 on the Wonder. Myself and one other person were the only ones that had ties on. No shorts are allowed. Most of the men had on nice pants and a collared shirt. As long as you don't wear shorts and a t-shirt I think you will be fine.
It used to be that you had to have a tie and jacket but I think the dress code as relaxed quite a bit over the years. |

While there is no formal night on the Wonder, there is a dress up night and our reservation at Palo was on the dress up night. My husband wore a suit and I wore a cocktail dress. I noticed most men were wearing suits (some with ties, some without), I think this may have been because it was also the designated dress up night. Otherwise, I think dockers and a nice shirt would be fine.

What about for a Palo Brunch on the Magic? I wore white capri's with a nice dressy top to our Brunch on the Wonder. Do I need to dress up more for the Magic?

Many people forgo Palo for many reasons. On their first cruise, they may want to experience each of the main dining room menus and the pirate night menu. They may feel there is too much to do or that they want to eat as family. Others feel that Palo is the highlight of the cruise. It's up to you! And...to other question...Magic vs. Wonder dress code is the same. However, more guys are seriously dressed up on the Magic, probably because they brought the clothes for formal night. You would dress the same for Palo on the Magic as you would on the Wonder. There isn't any difference between the two, or the recommedations for attire. |

You will be fine. DH wore a dress shirt and tie and was on the more dressed up side. Saw maybe one older gentlman with a sportcoat on. Got to sit by some real class acts... one guy was wearing track pants with a polo shirt. Track pants!!!
Also on the Nov 5 Wonder but the 1st night.

During our last cruise (August 2-6) on the Wonder, most of the men wore shirt and ties. Only a few of us had coats. I don't recall seeing any of the men wearing polos though. Hope that help and have a great time!
