If Target is opening at 5am its gonna mess me up!!

Ok I'm hearing that Target is opening at 5 instead of 6 on BF that is going to mess my system up I always go to Walmart at 5 get what I want and out and in line at Target by 5:20 then on to the next stop. I have a system...Make my lists on Thanksgiving day, know what I'm going after and I only buy whats on my list, no shopping, and then move on to the next store. After I have hit the major stores and gotten what I want then I go "shopping"....I can't be at 2 places at the same time

I agree, target opening at 5 is going to mess me up too this year. My sister, mother, and I always do BB first then are in line for target well before 5:30. Normally we do Aafes (which normally opens at midnight, but apparently this year is 4am which means we are all messed up and might have to skip it), then BB (5am), then Target (6am).

We always go in with a list, buy only what's on our list (no shopping or looking around on BF, just get in, get what you want and get out).

With all the stores opening close or at the exact same time, it's really throwing a wrench into our BF plans. Normally the three of us don't separate, but I am starting to wonder if we'll have to this year. If at all possible we want to stay together, but if we do I know we'll have to make one store our priority and then just see what we can snag at all the stores after that.

My strategy for Target the past few years has been to get what I want a few days before Thanksgiving and then go back whenever I have time on Black Friday and get a price adjustment. Never had any problems with them doing this.

I don't think that Target opening at 5 will mess you up -- it was all over the news today that Wal-Mart is going to be keeping almost all its stores open from 8am on Thanksgiving morning thru the end of business on Friday, so they won't close and have an 'opening' time that morning as a means of alleviating the crowd problems. So you can just go to Wal-Mart even earlier (of course I don't know if this means they'll start the sales earlier, but I'd assume so).

Nope, Walmart's black friday prices are available only from 5am-11am on Black Friday. They are staying open on Thanksgiving to alleviate the massive rush through the doors at 5am. Our walmart tried this new approach last year....I HATED it!!! People had been standing around the item they wanted since 3pm Thanksgiving! I got to the store at 2am on Friday morning and became part of the herd standing around the camera on sale. At 5 minutes till 5am, the managers started coming through and cutting the plastic off the sale items. The people surrounding the camera took it upon themselves to open the camera display and oh man Fist fights, hair pulling. It was horrible! Luckily a very nice and TALL gentleman, reached over the crowd, grabbed a camera for me and pushed me out of the crowd. I am not looking forward to that again this year.

Also, just to let you know...Toys R Us is opening at Midnight and Old Navy is opening at 3am!

Target is opening at 5 because they don't want you to go to Wal Mart. You will probably have to decide which is a higher priority for you this year. I'm waiting for the Meijer ad to determine where I will go first.

If Toysrus starts their sale at midnight that actually helps me alot. Our closest Toysrus is about an hour away. So if there is anything good I can go there and make it back to our local Wal-Mart in time for that sale.

The midnight is what is scaring me! That'll screw me up big time! If Toys and walmart open at Midnight(which is what I am hearing around here) And then best buy and target open at 5.
Ugh I won't get any sleep!

Wow looks like I'll be going to bed right after my Turky on Thursday to get ready! If TRU opens at Midnight that would be great. I'd do TRU@12, Old Navy@3, then decide between Walmart & Target

I've always brought the Target, TRU, etc. ad to Walmart and they price matched the item I bought on Black Friday.

Luckily Target did not have anything that I really need, so even if they open early, it will not matter. I wish Walmart price matched percentages off. If they did I could get everything done at one store!

I've heard from a friend's mother who works in the cash office at Toys R Us, that they are opening at midnight and then closing at 3:00 and then reopening at 5:00 again or something like that. I am under the impression that it won't be 12:00 on.
