Rose & Crown or Le Cellier?

DH and I have a reservation at Le Cellier, but the following night we're eating at Narcoossee's (non-negotiable, it's our second time for our anniversary dinner there, love it!). I know he'll get the surf & turf there, and I'll probably have a fish of some sort. Since he's having steak filet this night - I'm rethinking our ADR at Le Cellier. We're only having dinner one night at Epcot (had originally planned for two, but friends who we're eating with decided not to do the parks that night, so Captain's Grill is where we chose - hmm, probably another steak night).

What are your thoughts? Skip Le Cellier for Rose & Crown, or keep what we have? And why?

Thanks!

In my personal opinion...I think there are much better steakhouses then Le Cellier. We loved Rose and Crown and would go there again in a heartbeat. My DF had the fish and chips and he said they were delicious. So I would say change it since you will be getting steak again.

We've been to both and I have to say I enjoyed Rose & Crown far more than LeCellier. Both were good, but the meal at LeCellier was just not as tasty as R&C. The waiter at R&C was very attentive, the food was wonderful... we can't wait to go back!

At LeCellier we ordered the prime rib and in my opinion it was awful! My dd ordered a steak (NY strip maybe?) and hers was much better, but still just a good, not great steak. Love the cheese soup and pretzel bread though!

Thanks for your feedback so far, I'm really leaning towards R&C now. We were planning to eat there last year but it was so cold the night we were at Epcot, we weren't prepared for the weather around the water (and just didn't have any other layers to put on back at the hotel), so we went back to the resort and switched dinner to eat at Narcoossee's that night instead of the following night. R&C just looks great, the food sounds fantastic, and I get the feeling DH would love to get fish & chips!

We had dinner at both in August.

Le Cellier was better. We were not impressed with R&C though our waiter was very charming.

If you were lucky enough to snag Le Cellier, I wouldn't ditch it!

We wanted to go to LC but could get a spot. We did get our 1st choice @ the R&C though

We just went to R&C last week and really enjoyed it (the pork was very good). We love Le Cellier too. The best part of the dinner and R&C was the outside seating at the fireworks! If you do go, make sure to bring a jacket though...it got cold (they do have heaters that they put on for a while).

My family very much prefers Le Cellier. Rose and Crown just doesn't apeal to us. Were going back to Le Cellier in a few weeks.

Definitely, I would keep LeCellier!!! Last February, we ate at R&C and it was one of the worst meals we have ever had at WDW. My son's fish was all crust, no meat and the apple crumble was served with no crumble and a teaspoon of ice cream. What a disappointment!!! It used to be one of our favorite meals. We will definitely wait awhile before returning. I would be interested in those that give favorable comments as to when they were there last. Hopefully, we were just there on a bad day.

Hi - we were there in August, right at the beginning of free dining. It was a last minute decision to go, and R&C was one of the few ressies we could get. I was shocked at how good it was, as I expected it to be okay/pretty good but not great.

HTH!

R&c!

I know this is the minority opinion, but I've done LeCellier once and Rose and Crown twice, most recently two weeks ago, and R&C won hands down.

LeCellier isn't bad, just overhyped. We enjoyed our food, but it's not the upscale steakhouse quality I was expecting and we really did not like the cramped tables and noisy atmosphere. R&C was great both times and we had great servers. I had a yummy strawberry smoothie which counted on the DDP and we both loved our entrees-the surf n' turf and the cottage pie. Especially if you haven't tried it before, give R&C a whirl.

Le Cellier, definitely. We weren't that impressed with R&C. But then again, I'm not a very adventurous eater. I like the staples that LC has to offer (great steaks, to-die-for fresh bread, yummy sides like mac & cheese and mashed potatoes). We were lucky enough to get to eat there twice on our last trip, and are planning the same for our next!

We actually gave up a LeCellier CP dinner package for Rose and Crown. Call us nuts. Our reason was that we found out after we made our LeCellier reservation that David Cook was playing at Hard Rock Live at Universal on the same night as our reservation. So we booked R&C for the next day and canceled LeCellier. We are actually happy we are going to R&C now, my parents will be with us and I think they will like it better than LeCellier (they are from Canada).
