Can you freeze processed cheese?
Silly question but something I just thought of. I wanted to make grilled salami & cheese sandwiches and soup for dinner but realized that we don't have cheese slices. We don't really use them that much so I often end up throwing some out, so, is this something I can freeze? I know I can freeze regular cheese (shredded) and do regularly but hadn't even thought of processed cheese.
Thanks!

Do you mean like Kraft singles? If so, yes, I've frozen packages of that type of cheese and they've come out just fine.

I always freeze slices of American cheese with no problems. I've never frozen whole blocks of processed cheese though.

I think my Mom used to freeze those huge blocks but I can't remember. I never buy the blocks, just the singles. Sounds like I can do that! Thanks!!

If you mean the Kraft slices, then I second this. We buy the Sam's Club of Kraft Cheese Singles. One goes in the fridge, the rest goes in the freezer. Tastes the same.

Same here. I freeze all kinds of cheese - sliced, shredded, block - all comes out fine!
