Question mmm..what scale is....

this is budget..because I'm needing to return a set of figures I bought for my Christmas Village - they are too big...they're 1/18 scale....I need the figures that are smaller...but not too much smaller. Is 1/24 scale smaller or larger...Im so mixed up....can anyone help? TIA - Barb

The larger the number, the smaller the figure.

Here are some of the most common "scales":

1/18 is larger than 1/16 (though close)
1/16 is larger than 1/24
1/24 is larger than 1/32
1/32 is larger than 1/35 (though close)
1/35 is larger than 1/48
1/48 is larger than 1/72
1/72 is larger than 1/144
