BFF just got back from Treehouse Villas

My dear friend (and my favorite bartender, I might add) just got back from a trip to the world for the first time with her husband, 1-1/2 year old son and in-laws. Her husband is going to boot camp next Monday for the Air Force and most likely being deployed soon after. It was a gift from her in-laws so they could all be together.

They were originally scheduled to go later, and stay at CBR. They had to change their plans, due to boot camp scheduling earlier than origially planned. Their travel agent was able to get them 4 nights at the Treehouse Villas, starting Halloween night.

She said they loved being close to DTD and took in all of the festivities for Halloween the first night they were there. She also enjoyed the shops and the leisurely atmosphere.

They loved being able to make stuff for the baby in the Villa; the kitchen was so convenient.

One small drawback, they share buses with SSR. So they had to first go all the way around the Treehouse Villas and they were dropped off at the SSR main bus depot. Then they boarded the parks buses there and had to go all the way around the loop at SSR. It was quite a long ride, with a 1-1/2 year old. In addition, it was a bit difficult to fold up, unfold, fold up, and unfold the stroller so many times, in addition to toting around diaper bags, etc.

When they got over to MK, and rode the monorail, she could see why so many people with small children stay in the monorail resorts!

Overall, a wonderful trip, especially when I explained to her how the Treehouses were recently opened to the public and how they work with the DVC, etc. - she didn't realize how special it really was!

I'm glad that your friend had a good vacation while her husband could be with them. But----------some of their problems I don't quite understand. I stayed at THV this past summer and found 1)the bus route around THV is
not that long; 2)there are basically two stops that the internal bus makes and neither one does not go to all the stops. Why did they get on the monorail at MK? the bus drops them off right in front of the gates except if they wanted to go to EPCOT in which case they could have just taken a bus from SSR directly to EPCOT. The travelling is not as bad as your friend is making it out to be. We even had a wheelchair with us and found it was no problem with the bus transportation.

THV doesn't share buses with SSR. It is just a part of SSR, not a separate resort. They are 100% timeshare, but some of the tree house villas may be available to non-DVC members for cash.

Some of the guests who stay at THV walk over to the Grandstand bus stop and avoid the bus from THV to the Grandstand.

Yellowstone was amazing and is a lot more inviting than Disney right now. Could we be selling it all in the near future? Maybe.

We stayed at the THVs in Sept. and absolutely LOVED it. I'm so glad your friend had a wonderful time with her family.
