This will be our first time staying at BLT. I was wondering how grocery delivery is handled since it seems that access to BLT is more restrictive.
For those of you who have had Garden Grocer deliver to your BLT room, how was your experience? Do they deliver to the Comtemporary and you have to escort them to BLT? Or do they go directly to the BLT front entrance and deliver it? Any info and suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

We just returned home last night *sigh*. We were at BLT and used GG for the first time. I was very happy with GG. The prices were fair, delivery charge reasonable and they called me B4 my trip to confirm the dates and time. They will deliver your order to the Contemporary where it will be stored in temperature-controlled holding for you. Once you get up to your villa at BLT, call the front desk (they will transfer your call) and ask for your order to be delivered to you. DONE. Only problem we had was that they told us 10-15 minutes to deliver our groceries. I told them we had a dinner res. to get to. It took them 40 minutes and three phone calls. I wish they had just been honest and accurate--I would have held off the delivery until after we arrived back from dinner. Also, on the GG order form please be aware that the tip you optionally add on does not land in the hands of the person who delivers your order. You tip that person separately (if you choose to of course).

I can't speak to Garden Grocer, but we used WeGoShop in September. We called Marge when we got to our villa (we already had a tentative delivery time set up) and she was actually at Publix doing our shopping. She arrived within a half hour and brought everything straight up to our villa.
My dh and I were thrilled with the whole service and we'll definitely be using it again.

So who does the tip you optionally add on to go to? The shoppers? I didn't realize this and was planning to place an order soon for Nov 22 delivery. The order is just over $200 and I was going to add on $20 but I'm not sure I want to add $20 there and then another $20 to the person that delivers it since that would be almost 25% of my order. Or are those tip amounts appropriate? We aren't staying at BLT but will be at Kidani. |

I wasn't aware that the optional tip on the order form doesn't go to the person who delivers. Although I usually just tip the person, it's good to know this info. We have ordered from them a few times and it was always GG delivery person who brought it up to us. So, at BLT, they leave the grocery with the Contemporary CM and they in turn would be the one to deliver it? Is this correct? Is it possible to ask them (when they call to confirm 30mins prior) to deliver it to the BLT lobby and we can let them in so that they can bring it to our room? |
