**Beware of Thieves at Disneyworld**

To everyone going to Disneyworld: Beware of THIEVES. The shoulder bag that I was carrying was slit up the side by someone trying to steal my wallet. It appears that some type of razor knife was used. I had the bag over my shoulder and never felt anyone cutting my bag. This happened during the daytime at Magic Kingdom or Downtown Disney--I am not sure. See picture below. Fortunately for me, they did not succeed.

I have been going to Disneyworld for 20 years and nothing like this has ever happened to me!!!

The reason for this post is to warn people to be careful--not to be naive like I was!!

Thanks for the headsup, glad they didn't steal from you. People get very lax when on vacation. I know personally I have pointed out to a couple of women that their wallets were at the top of their purse and someone could just steal it. Also with a teenage girl I told the mom that money was about to fall out of her back pocket. If it can't fit in my front pocket I don't need it.

That would be pretty brazen especially in a crowded park with many people watching.

looks like it is along the seam line?
could it be the seam coming loose?

I would think as long as that cut is you would have felt it?

If it is a cut, then that is scary and sad indeed!

DTD is a haven for thieves, I wouldn't be surprised if that's where it happened.

Glad to hear you weren't hurt and that you didn't lose anything... well, other than your bag!!

If it is a cut made by a theif, then thank goodness they did not succeed. IMO though, it would be very difficult for someone in Disney to pull out a knife and begin cutting at your bag without someone noticing. I think that the more reasonable explaination is that the bag was cut getting on or off of a ride or something of that nature, or as a previous poster stated, the bag simply ripped out.

This is a very common way thieves steel from women. These guys are so fast you never see or feel them doing it. I am sure this happened at DTD. It is much easier to bring razor blades there than at MK.

If you ask people who have been pick pocketed they never felt the person put their hand in their pocket. This is their profession they are good at it.
Thanks goodness you are Ok and nothing was taken.

Wouldn't someone have to be really close to you to be able to do this? Seems like you would notice a stranger up in your personal space, but maybe not if you're caught up in a crowd like at DW.

Glad they didn't get anything...I'll be more careful on our trip.
