Car shopping...very stressful!!

Ok, I have been looking for a car since Cash for clunckers...but the one I wanted they never had...heck..they still don't so I am going to order it. Now the only discounts for this car will be through Sam's club or Costco. Costco gave me a great price of $300 over invoice..

Now I tried getting the Sams price, and went to the dealer on Saturday...drove a lower model to see how it drove (same engine and tires etc). And after talking to the salesperson, realized I knew more about the car then he did!!

I called them back today to talk to the salesperson in charge of the Sam's discount, told him I planned on ordering the car, what I wanted and the only thing I needed to know was there a Sam's club discount. I told him I had a price through Costco and the better price gets my business. Well he asked me what the Costoc prices was.. I said well I will let you know after you give me the Sam's price!!!

He calls back several hours later and starts talking about low inventory, and incentives..yada yada yada..I stopped him and said..well incentives won't come into play until the car comes in, and you have no idea what they are going to be. I said is there a Sam's club discount. He hemmed and hawed and said no. I said thankyou..but I am going with the other dealer!!

Now, I had been talking to another dealership near where my DH works, and this dealership is the same family as the one from Sam's. So I told him thanks for all your help, but I am ordering the car though a Costco dealership, explaned about his other office, and he said, will you let me talk to my manager. I was like sure. He said well would you buy it from us or our dealer closer to you..I said I would go with him, he has been really nice and helpful, and just great and full of information. He calls me back with 15 minutes and said he will match the Costco price!!

So we are going down there on Saturday to order my car!!

Now we have to negotiate, my trade in, and at some point the financing.. our local bank is cheaper then the dealership...we will see if they match that too!!

Finally so close..I have wanted this car since August!!

It is the 2010 Chevy Equinox if anyone is interested!

How exciting!!!! We've been looking for a new car for a few weeks now, trying to decide between a large SUV (Chevy Tahoe) or a full-size sedan (Honda Accord). There are some other vehicles that would be in the running, but I know the GM of the local dealerships so I get a better deal there. (I'd rather have a Honda anyways.) Luckily, we took the BF's truck in on Saturday to find out what they'd give us for trade in, and he would be breaking even (he's only had is truck 9 months)! We decided on the Accord, but I was disappointed because they didn't have the exact color combo that I wanted - we walked in the building and they had the EXACT car on the showroom floor. Hopefully, this beautiful pearl 2010 Accord will be coming home with us on Saturday...keep your fingers crossed!!! :-)

I had an Equinox.............I loved it.

About 3 years ago, we signed up to adopt one child. Prior to this, I bought my Equinox (my favorite car, ever). Perfect, family of 4 with one in a car seat.

Few month's later.....hey, she has a baby brother, you interested phone call comes. So, along comes another....in a car seat.

Yep, you figured it out....family of 5 with 2 car seats will not fit....gas was $4.00 a gallon at the time and if we wanted to go anywhere as a family, we needed 2 cars.

So, traded in and still mourn it's loss..........driving a town and country. The minute my kids are out of car seats...I am so going back to the Equinox. Problem is my daughter is very small....7 and only 36 pounds. With the 8yr, 80 pound rule, she will be 17 when she is removed.

Glad you liked the car...the 2010 is redone, and has gotten rave reviews..plus great gas milage. We are downsizing..I am trading in the mini van!! No more car seat/booster as of this past year.. plus the mini van is 8 years old..and just starting to need work..so time for something new for another 8 years!!
