Pop Warner Crowd Levels

Can someone tell me what effect Pop Warner has on the crowd levels? Is the increase limited to any one park? Any particular time of day??

It really doesn't affect the parks much (especially during the daytime.)

They are doing the sports activities during the day.

There will be one evening that DHS closes an hour or so early to allow for a private Pop Warner party.

We were there during PW week last year and had a great time...the parks were crowded but very manageable. The weather was incredible. We made sure we avoided the park that had the PW party in the evening (I believe it was HS last year)...otherwise, we hardly saw any of the PW players or cheerleaders.

HAVE A GREAT TIME!!!

Unless you are staying at one of the resorts they use (All Stars and overflow into POR) you won't really notice them. They are at their events all week. No real affect on the parks except for the night they do their party in HS.

We did notice the Saturday at the end of their week to be a little crowded with them in the parks....but their events were over at that point and it seemed like many of the families stayed an extra day or two for some family vacation.

All in all though they really don't affect the parks much at all.

We are looking for the least crowded week to visit while the Christmas decorations are up. Do you think it would be PW week?

We are going to AKL from 12/5-12/12 this year. This will be our 3rd trip during Pop Warner, and we've always had a great time. Granted, we have never stayed at their resort, but the crowds were very manageable. They take up alot of rooms, but are almost non existent in the parks. Maybe its the reverse psychology thing--everybody hears how crowded it will be and stay away from that week? Whatever it is, we've always had a blast, and can't wait until 12/5!

I was thinking, if Pop Warner takes up a bunch of rooms at the resorts and then aren't in the parks during the day, wouldn't that make the parks have lighter crowds than normal days (with families that are at the parks all day)? I think as long as you aren't at their resort, it would be a good time to go.

Maybe we'll be lucky, and they will have another brawl this year. Last year was a hoot.
