What happened to Rescue Heroes?

I went in our local Goodwill here today and happen to be there when they were putting out some Fisher Price Rescue Heroes sets. I was able to get my ds 4 the Aquatic Command Center , fire truck and police car and horse along with alot of extra guys, quads, helicopter, etc. Anyways, I got a huge set for right under $20 for everything. I got home and tried to search toysrus for some different pieces and there is nothing. My oldest DS is 13 now so it has been a few years since I have looked at this stuff. My oldest never got into this stuff either, but I remember seeing them in the stores. Do they not make this anymore? Anyways, my ds is having a blast with them, but just wondering for Christmas if he wanted any more pieces if I was out of luck. TIA!

I believe that Rescue Heroes were replaced with Planet Heroes a few years ago. My youngest DS just turned 3 and recently discovered DS8's old Rescue Heroes. I'm kind of disappointed that I won't be able to add to the collection.

Yeah-can't find them in stores anymore. They are great toys and I can find them at rummage sales regularly. If you want more pieces, keep checking resale stores and rummage sales. The good thing is that you can get them pretty cheap.

My DS3 & DD3 loved playing with our old ones. I wanted to add a couple to our collection and found one on ebay, but yeah, they aren't in stores anymore. We like to movies too, but they are in VHS so I don't know how long we'll be able to watch them.
You got a great deal!!
You just never know what you'll find at Goodwill.
Last month I was hunting for something and DS9 was with so he went to check out the toy bin. He found a tub of real legos, at least 500 pieces, mostly bricks but some guys & things, all for $4.00!! And a gallon ziploc bag of Playmobil for 99 cents! It was a good day!

I looked for some awhile back thinking my ds would like them and found them gone too!
My dd is 13 now but she loved playing with Rescue Hero stuff when she was little. I am surprised they went away.

Oh, my DS did too! We gave all of his Rescue Heroes away (tons of them!) to a Mother's Day Out program which a friend of mine had just opened up and needed toys for. I hope they are still getting lots of fun use out of them!
This thread just gave me a sentimental flashback.

When I drink I find its easier to watch my children because I see all 3 of them double, so all 6 of them of them take all my attention

My oldest ds was obsessed with Rescue Heroes. We had everything including that huge aircraft carrier thing. My youngest ds didn't really get into them, it was so sad to see them go. I boxed everything up and was going to give it to Goodwill but a woman was driving through our neighborhood to look through the bulk pick-up garbage (furniture, large baby gear, etc) and I stopped her and asked if she wanted them for her 2 young boys. She said sure so I loaded up the entire back of her SUV with all the stuff. I'm glad they at least made some other kids happy.

I loved their names, my favorite was Maureen Biologist

Fisher-Price/Mattel discontinued the Rescue Heroes line, a few years back (their successors included "heroes" modeled after the DC Comics superheroes, and the current "Space Heroes").

If you're interested in getting a new, in-package RH, you can PM me...

I have a ton of Rescue Heroes that I collected for DS but he just isn't interested. He convinced me he LOVED the Planet Heroes but those were only played with the 1st week. Every other child I know just LOVED them! We do have a dvd that he used to watch all the time. The VHS tapes I got rid of once he stopped watching them.

I am in the Lehigh Valley and would be interested. I see you are leaving soon so maybe I can catch up with you after your trip. Have fun!

I am bummed they got rid of them. My boys are nine and eight and have been playing with RHs for probably five years now. They still love them. We have movies too and a couple are on DVD.

Check on ebay for specific pieces or even sets. There are also videos. I have one of the big command centers that had this feature where you could record and replay a message. DS was about 5 when he recorded something on there/ He is 15 now, and I can't get rid of the command center, because his little voice sounds so cute!! He loved him some Rescue Heroes!
