End of June or beginning of August?
Hubby says we can go again this year. YIPPEE!!!
We usually went in the beginning to mid August but that won't work for next summer. Is it better to go mid to end June or beginning of August? We don't want to be there for the 4th. We'd be there from the 21st -30th of June or the very end of July/beginning of August. I know its going to be crowded as that's when we've gone in the past. However, its my daughter's 5th birthday and my husband's birthday while we'd be there and she would love to spend it w/ her gal Cindy. There would be the 4 of us going (DH 40, me 38, DD soon to be 5 and our son, 13 mos.) We've done it with her when she was little so I'm not worried about that. We have been enough times before where we don't mind not touring commando style anymore. We are planning to stay on property so daytime breaks after lunch would be the norm. Ideas, comments and suggestions would be apprectiated. Thanks so much Dis-friends. Gretchen

Both times would be hot and crowded, but having lived in the deep south most of my life I find August to be hotter and more humid. It is also more likely that you would get a hurricane then. If it were me, I would pick June

Agree, I wouldn't risk getting a hurricane during vacation, it usually brings heavy rains, done it, hate it.

Hurricane Charley hit while we were there one year. I didn't even think about the hurricanes. Really, it wasn't so bad. Everyone that was working was sooooo nice. I felt so bad for them. Many of their or their family's houses were damaged and they were at work smiling with the guests.
That's 2 votes for June though.

We went end of July/beginning of August this past year and loved it. It did rain every afternoon or evening, but every morning we woke up to beautiful blue skies. We are early risers so it was perfect for us. Parks not crowded during the early part of the day, got crowded during the afternoon when we would leave anyway. There were some thunderstorms in the evening, so we just had to be flexible with our plans. Was it hot? Absolutely! But we were at the pool or waterpark during the hottest parts of the day, so we loved it. We are planning on going back at the same time in 2011 because we really enjoyed that time of year. If you go then bring ponchos!
