Arriving day before-airport Hyatt?

What is the protocol if we arive at the Orlando airport the day before cruising. We plan to stay at the Airport Hyatt.

1. Bags? How do they handle bags the morning of departure if we stay at Hyatt?
2. Transportation the morning of departure-- We booked DCL transportation (buses). When do they/can we leave? Wha tis earliest departure, when can we board?

The hotel is very familiar about what to do and will explain everything - it is really easy!

If you have Disney transportation, you should have received tags for your bags that have your cruise room number on them. You put them on and you will be told to leave the bags inside of your room (by the door) and they will be picked up early in the morning. I forget what time.

We were told what time to come to the lobby, and we actually left our room before our bags. So of course I asked at the desk and they said not to worry. So I didn't worry.

We went to a table where we were told which bus we would go one and we waited for a bit to be called. We followed someone down to the bus, got on, and were off.

Never saw our bags again until they showed up in our room on the ship.

This is all from my memory of August. Like I said, just ask the people at the desk and they will tell you (and even give you an instruction sheet!). The one thing I do remember was that it was important not to put our tags on the luggage until after we go into the hotel. I believe that's explained in the info booklets we got from Disney.

The above is correct from everything I've read recently. The exact procedure has changed over the years, so you may hear some other things from "long ago." They are correct that you don't add the DCL tags till the bags are ready to be picked up from the cruise. Beyond that, all you have to do is tell the person at the desk that you are on Disney transportation and they will give you the current info sheet with all the exact times and details.

If you arrive the day before YOU will have to claim your luggage from the carousel and bring them to the Hyatt. The next morning DCL will handle it from there.

I did this about 3 weeks ago. I was told when I checked in at the Hyatt for 3 and 4 Night crusies you need to go down the Magical Express area and check in between 6:30 and 8:30 am. There we did our port check in and got our lanyards and KTTW cards. We left our luggage in our room near the door. We then went back down just before 9:30to catch the first bus to the port.

if you are doing a 7-Night Cruise, you will check in at the DCL desk in the Hyatt Lobby. From there they will put you on the DCL bus and you will check in for your cruise at the port.

Not sure how it will work for 5-Night or cruises longer than 7-Nights. This was the info I was given for 3-, 4- and 7-Nights.

On the 7 night, I presume we can sleep in a little and have breakfast at the hotel. Seems on some cruises the buses leave fairly early? I want to leave early but not tooo early, so as to be not just waiting around the port check area in for two hours waiting to board. Wondering what time the busus usually depart.

I just want to reiterate: do not put your cruise luggage tags on before you leave home. The airport personnel pulls all bags with DCL tags on them to route them to the ship. They don't pay attention (or even know) whether the ship is sailing that day or in 7 days. If you're spending the night before, put the tags on when you get to your hotel.

On any of the cruises you can sleep in if you like, the buses will be running continuously. We stay at the Hyatt, sleep in, go have a full breakfast at the Hyatt, return to the room with coffee and go down to check in about 10:30am. We prefer not to hurry up and then wait at the port. Since we're concierge even if boarding has begun we are taken to the front of the line, and those who are not concierge are boarded quickly in any event.
