CA teachers & administrators: found great price on APs

If you are a present or retired teacher/administrator in CA, you can get a Deluxe Annual Pass through the CTA/TSA website for $263! There is no charge for shipping or handling unless it is over $500. If $500 or more, the charge is $15 more.

Here is the website http://www.tsaspecialservices.com/entertainment.htm

Yay! Thanks for the link. Dh is a teacher and I've checked that website before for hopper tickets, but they weren't a bargain. I'll have to keep in mind that the AP is actually a good deal. Not sure when we'll make it back to DLR this year. Planned on January, but we had to buy a washer, dryer and a fridge this week. Ugh!

I never used them before for hoppers because we always wanted more than 3 days and that was the highest you could get through them. The AP, though, is a good deal!

minnieandmickey, when I called today I asked if they needed some kind of number or something and the woman told me "No, it's just on the honor system!" I certainly think classified personnel deserve the discount! You may qualify anyway--I'd call and ask.

Our family has used TSA before for tickets. They're definitely reliable and the 1 day park hopper is such a good deal! It's like 2 dollars more than a 1 day 1 park, but for 2 parks.

DH is a member of CTA. Several years ago we checked there for DLR tickets but all I found were 1 or 2 day tickets, not three day. And they didn't have the APs then. We want to get APs again next summer, but I see the current ones they have expire in Jan, so we'll have to see if they have them after that. Thanks for the heads up. I wouldn't have thought to check them again.

Of course, we will also be watching to see if Costco offers them again with that deal they had before and see which is better.

Yes! I just renewed my ap with one of the last Costco vouchers. I'm going to DL with my sister and BIL next week. They called me to see about the best price for hoppers and whether or not to get APs. I hadn't thought of checking the CTA site but I was looking on the mousesavers website and clicked the CTA/TSA link and was surprised to see APs listed. Since my sis and BIL plan to go to DL again in spring, I told them it would be worth the extra $63 dollars to get an AP now.

*Note: if you are ordering more than one AP, order them separately and you will save the $15 shipping charge.

Under $500 (no charge) = 3 days
Over $500 ($15) = 1 day, insured

I think the best deal for SoCal people is being able to pay monthly for your AP. I honestly would not have been able to get a premium this year without that.

This is such super information! Thanks so much for sharing! We are already in the very tentative stages of planning a September trip, and the price savings for the AP through CTA is enough to justify an AP instead of a five-day hopper for our December trip. Especially since it might save me $20 on our hotel and then factor in the food savings over five days!

How difficult will it be to activate our first morning? I'd hate to take a big chunk of our first morning (DD's birthday!) activating an AP.
