Question What do you think about the V-Smile Motion ?

Thinking of getting ds who by Christmas will be 7 a v-smile motion. He has loved his old v-smile but it's gotton old & the game quality is a little babish for him so I was checking at Amazon.com saw the v-smile mottion. The console was going for around $49 with most games at $19. There was quite a selection & all games DS would love. Exactly what is the motion part ? Is it similar to the Wii ??

We have an x-box 360 that really is DH but DS plays a little but gets stuck a lot so this seems like a great present for under the tree with a few games.

Anyone bought it in the past ? Likes, dislikes ? Possible to find it cheaper than Amazon.com. I was thinking of waiting till after Thanksgiving to see of any sales came out ?

I bought the motion for my dd last year when she was almost 4. I also got her the vsmile handheld b/c they can share the games. Granted, she's a lot younger than your son...but she just can't seem to get a hang of the motion part of the vmotion. LOL Since she easily plays the handheld, she plays the games on the motion w/ the buttons & joystick (which is an option on all of the Vmotion games.) You can also play any non-Vmotion games on the motion...but you would be using the buttons to play.

It is not that similar to the wii as far as the motion part goes. Basically you'd tilt the controller right to go right, left to go left, up to go up....there are a couple where you jerk it to jump, and so forth.

She hasn't asked to play it in while, but she plays all the games. She's almost 5 now, so maybe she'd get the whole motion idea now. I like the concept & love how educational the games are. The games I buy are the 3-6 age range...haven't looked at the older ones.

HTH a little!

I just bought this last night for my DD and my almost 3 year old nephew. He is very active so I thought the motion part would wear him out.

I got it at Toys R Us for $44.95 for the unit and $18.74. They had many games on sale.

I hope I made a good choice.
