I look to see if this had been posted and didnt see anything:
http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2009...uit-aerosmith/ What do you think this will do to RnRC (if anything?)? I think that it kinda sucks. They've been together for so long!

It does stink, but he is 61.
It's not likely to affect RnR--especially for the duration of the contract that the band currently holds with Disney--because no doubt he still has part "ownership" of the Aerosmith brand. That "ownership" will bring in his retirement income, I think.

There is no Aerosmith without Steven Tyler. Really, the guy never has to work another day if he doesn't care to. I guess we just wait and see how it all pans out.
Aerosmith concerts were some of my BEST. I'm thankful to have been able to see them so many times.

Makes you wonder about Tyler's health, or state of soberness.
RIP Aerosmith. |

No, I know. I can tell you *I* - at 36 - wouldn't want to be bouncing around a stage, nightly. Can't imagine how I'd feel at 61.

I just showed your post to my son, 16, Aerosmith fan. He said, "it has to be a rumor, right?" Poor kid. I took him to his first concert when he was 13 and we had tickets to a cancelled tour this past September, bummer! He seems to think it aint over.

I hope he's not using again. I was suspicious after he fell off the stage and hurt himself. Joe Perry seems to be pretty angry every time he talks about him.

Here is what I think:
I think it very likely that Steven Tyler has decided to leave Aerosmith. I also think it foolish. Mr. Tyler must face facts: he is tied up with Aerosmith. He is some 60 years old (I mean, when he and Aerosmith came out in 1971 or so, I was 16 years old and dismissed his band as a ‘Rolling Stones” wanna be). True, his band has endured. As has the Rolling Stones. Yet, to most reasonable people, Ron Wood remains ‘the new guy with the Rolling Stones’. He will never, by people like me, be fully accepted as a “Rolling Stone”. He is not Brian. Does Mr. Tyler really think that a 60 year old can create some ‘new sound’ that the youngsters will purchase? I hope not. Yet, such is life. |

![]() It just isn't "Aerosmith" without him. I guess I'm wondering why they wouldn't all call it quits, simply out of respect for Steven Tyler if indeed his health was the case. I'm not a groupie fan of them - so I'm not sure - are they all original to the band? They are, aren't they? |

I'll believe it when I hear ST say it. Joe hasnt been happy for years just based on what I follow. Joe is the one thats tried to make a name for himself for quite a few years now but really as amazing as Joe is w/o the rest they just don't add up to spectacular. I think Joe has always wanted front man status. |

I'm still cranky. Aerosmith has been scheduled to be here three times since we moved here. The first time, there was no way we could afford it. The second time, I wanted to go so badly, but we decided to wait it out one more time. (Turned out my sister passed away the day of the concert, so we wouldn't have made it anyway). This time? DH bought tickets for the concert as our anniversary gift! I was so excited. Inlaws were coming to watch the munchkin so we could have a guilt free night out. Then it was canceled. Now they're done. Dang it.
