Laundry at the Contemporary - The DIS Discussion Forums

It'll be our first stay at CR with 2 little ones (6 and 4)... I'm so used to doing quick loads throughout the stay so I don't have to pack too much... We'll only be staying for 6 days but I'm positive they'll go thru at least a couple of outfits per day (PLUS the big kid DH

). Do they have laundry facilities or a service? Should I just pack more?

There is a laundry service, but I am sure it is expensive.

There is a laundry room in the wing building on the second floor. I advise you to bring a roll of quarters (or 2) and your own laundry soap. I think it is 2 dollars to wash and 2 to dry. I always end up doing laundry and my kids are older. I hate to have so many bags.

I believe someone recently posted that the washers & dryers at CR don't take change any longer but that you swipe your room card and it is charged so you no longer need to carry change.

Still $2.00 per wash and dry.

Perhaps the poster will come here to verify.

I did laundry during my last stay. We brought our own detergent done (travel sized packets), but were surprised to find out the CR only charged $1 for the same detergent in the laundry room. Always safer to bring your own I guess, but I think next time we'll just be buying ours there.

Yes we did laundry at the Contemporary. Bring a lot of quarters, I don't remember a card swipe. Maybe it's new.
