Asking for prayers - The DIS Discussion Forums

One of my DH's fellow brothers of our local police department had to be given the saddest news yesterday morning. As this soldier, Henry, fights for our freedom overseas, he finds out that his 7 y.o. baby girl is killed by a stray bullet in New Orleans. As a parent, I can't imagine the long trip back to the States knowing it's not a happy visit. Please pray for his family.

And because of the Saints victory and Tropical Storm Ida, the news coverage was insignificant. CrimeStoppers is looking for any leads to this case.

Prayers for this family. What a tragedy. Was this the little girl who was killed when bullets were shot through her apartment complex walls? She was sleeping on the living room floor on an air mattress and was hit in the neck. This made our news today.

Prayers for all of her friends and family. Prayers for safe travels for this father. I can't imagine how long his journey back home will be.

That is so heartbreaking and tragic. Prayers for the whole family. I can't imagine that poor father having to come home to that.

Thanks everyone. This is the same story. The father was picked up from the airport today by about 10 of his police buddies. He's so devestated. To be fighting for our country and not here to protect his little girl.

No plans for our next visit, it will be 2011 or 2012 before we head back. We've had fun DLR/DCA, we will miss you while we are gone. We took 14 trips from July 07-July 08 and around 16 from Jan 09-Jan 10.
