Best Place for lunch (non park) on arrival day?
Hi Everyone:
We have an early morning flight that should get us to Disney by around noon. Just in time for a yummy lunch. We are staying at Bonnet Creek and will have a car. Since we can't check in until 4pm, we plan on getting a nice lunch then hitting a Publix for a couple things. Prefer to stay away from Downtown Disney until later in the week. Will also be going to 1900 Park Faire for dinner as well as Boma so would prefer not to go to AK Lodge or Grand Floridian then. Any suggestions for a special lunch place to kick off our trip? I was thinking possibly the Kona Cafe? Thanks so much! |

If you would enjoy a quiet lunch away from the bustle of the hotels, the Sand Trap is really good. GF Cafe is a favorite of our for lunch. Kona Cafe is a good choice, too. Captain's Grille at the YC serves a nice lunch.
Chef Mickey's is not normally open for lunch although it was during free dining....is it still open. Still, it is a buffet. You can get mcuh better food on the first floor of the CR at the Wave.

I second Olivia's at Old Key West. Close to Bonnet Creek and you can take a nice quiet walk around the resort after you eat.

I was going to suggest Earl of Sandwich in DTD until I read that you wanted to stay away from DTD till later in the week. I would then definatly agree with Kona at the Poly.

Will definitely be checking out all your suggestions....curious about the Captain's Grille particularly. Thanks again! |

I would go to CSR and eat at the Pepper Market or Capts Grill at the YC, Kona at the Poly, GFC at the GF, The Wave at the CR

Please steer clear of the Captain's Grille. They served me undercooked chicken ew... Go to Beaches and Cream instead!

Why not try something that isn't WDW since you'll be going to Publix? I heard that Chevys and some other restaurants at the Crossing are very good and probably much cheaper
I know there's a restaurant called Joe's Crab Shack (I think) that is supposed to be real good and fun too!
