Feeding toddlers in GC and Cozumel
We're on the Magic next week and I'm still deciding where we'll spend our time in Grand Cayman and Cozumel. We have a 2 year old son who is SUPER PICKY about food, so this is becoming my main concern.
Can anyone recommend any specific beaches/beach clubs in either destination that have good, safe "kid food" like hot dogs, burgers, chicken fingers, fruit? Many of the menus I've seen, esp for Cozumel, are heavy on Mexican cuisine. I'd love to hear about any favorite activities with toddlers in GC/Cozumel as well. Thanks!

In case you need a place in Grand Cayman, I saw a Burger King. You can see on the left from the port.
The turtle farm seem to be a great place to take the kids. I think your child is free and only the adults pay. I was in Cozumel, but I don't remember kid friendly foods, but I'm sure there is something. |

Carlos and Chariles in Cozumel has a kids menu. It's family friendly during the day. Why not feed them before you get off the ship? I'm not an over protective crazy Mom, but... The USDA does not exisist outside of the USA. We did not let our DD eat foreign food until she was 5. I'm sure the food is safe in foreign countries, DH and I eat it, but I was concerned for DD's health.

The primary problem with America is stupidity. Maybe we should just take all the warning labels off and let the problem solve itself.

Paradise Beach in Cozumel offers pepperoni or cheese pizza, hamburgers, and chicken sandwich along with seafood and Mexican dishes.

The turtle farm in GC has a $20 admission fee for "children." I don't know what ages they consider to be children or if there is a no-charge infant/toddler age.
There is also a Dairy Queen right across the street from the tender port. In Cozumel, I'd eat on the ship. You're probably not going to spend an entire day at a beach with a toddler. I'd just have cleanliness issues. DD was told that she couldn't get off the ship unless she submitted to a Hep A vaccine! |

Got it!
How old do you have to be to get the shot or is there no minimum?

We had no issues with cleanliness in Cozumel. The shopping at the port is a mall-type setting with little shops. We visited Paradise Beach, where the food was delicious, the restrooms were clean, and the service was top-notch.

Thanks so much for all the helpful information--just what I wanted to know. Sounds like we'll be OK in GC (good ole BK and DQ!
) and I think I'll take the advice of eating on the ship at Cozumel. You're right--we probably won't be there all day anyway--the attention span of a 2yo is not very long!!

Ditto! It was a lovely port and we had a wonderful day there. We ate at an outdoor restaurant at Chankanaab Park. The food was DELICIOUS! Of course it was all Mexican food, but seeing as we were in Mexico that's what I expected. My kids have been exposed to lots of different kinds of food since they were toddlers and are now happy to try/eat anything.
