what time are cabins ready?
Are cabins ready at 1:30 or are they ready sooner? Is there an announcement or do you just check to see when the ropes drop? I ask since we are thinking about carrying on our bag. We are only on a 3 night cruise and I am a great packer. Thanks for the info!

Thanks, I was not sure if the cabin time was like the check in time, flexible.... Do you think if we arrive early 10 am or so that the bags would be there at 1:30 when the cabins open?

No , your bags will be there when they get there. THere is no way to predict. The only bags there at 1:30 will be those of any back to back guests. They don't even start to deliver bags till after 1:30 because they are getting the rooms ready.
Most bags arrive during the afternoon, but don't panic if you don't see them till 5 pm or later. I've never heard of a bag delivered to the porters not making it to the ship. |

Same here. We were the first to hand our luggage off to a porter and it arrived in stages to the room. We got the last of the bags during the sail away party.

And don't panic if some of your party's suitcases arrive and others don't at the same time. My parent's didn't arrive until right before dinner while all of ours came right around 2-3 or so.

We've had one suitcase arrive and 2 not...or the reverse. They will all show up by 5 or 6.

So....if we have first dining, should we bring some clothes in our day bag in case we don't get our luggage in time??

Unless you are going to Palo on the first night, you have no concerns at all. The first night is "cruise casual." You can wear whatever you boarded in, especially if your luggage hasn't arrived. No one cares.....

I guess we were lucky. I went to our stateroom at 1:40 and all but two of our luggage had already been delivered. There was luggage all up and down the hallway at many but not all staterooms. I had us all unpacked ect. long before the safety drill, so there is a chance all would go smoothly earlier. We were also on deck one so maybe that had something do with the early delivery, thats the same deck from which the luggage is brought onto the ship.

I think I may just carry ours on then, I did loose a bag on another cruiseline during my honeymoon, so it has me kind of nervous. I was given an OB credit to buy stuff in the ship store till we went to our next port where the suite case was shipped to, but what a mess in the meantime.

I've never know of anything to not make it to the ship once it was turned over to DCL. The problem may occur when you give it to your airline and DCL is supposed to pick it up....and the airline doesn't manage to get it to the destination or to DCL. Once it is in Disney's hands, no problems.
