Dolphin - decorating our room for Xmas

We are staying at the Dolphin just before Christmas and would love to bring some of our own decorations. We were thinking about hanging a snowman stocking on our door with a Command hook that will easily come down. And possibly hanging some LED lights around our window plus an itty bitty tree inside our room. Is this allowable? Are there any rules about such things? As long as we clean it up, will we be OK?

I'd bring an over-the-door hook for the stocking, but I would be afraid the door wouldn't close. Any ideas?

If anyone has any experience with this at the Swan or Dolphin, I love to hear what kind of decorations you brought.

I don't have a clue but we are going to CBR in December and I am curious to what the answer is. Sounds fun.

We stayed at PORFQ last year and took a Christmas scene to put in the window - we caught several people stopping to look and it was fun coming home to "our Disney window". We had fun with it! But it would be hard to do the same thing at the Dolphin. In years past, I can recall seeing lights on the balcony rails. But I can't remember anything more than that!

So have fun at CBR - I know you can decorate the window!

We have stayed at the Dolphin over Christmas before and this is what we did:
Window clings on the window and mirror
table top tree ( remember an extension cord!)with a fun tree skirt to cover the table with
stockings hung on the paintings/headboards..I put pipe cleaners thru the loop of the stockings, so it was like a long loop to hang them on the corner of the frame
we had suction cup-hooks that held window lights up and again, an extension cord. We made sure we unplugged all cords and had them off the floor before leaving the room each time so housekeeping did not have to deal with them.
we did not use any adhesives or hooks, we did not put anything on our room door, so sorry no help with that.
I have learned that shiny pipe cleaners go a long way in decorating a room, can be bent int o a hidden mickey, can fold over acloset door or curtain rod, decorate above a mirror etc. We had a great stay ther more than once over Christmas...I think you will have a great time!

SUPER!!!! My biggest fear is that the lights would be ruled a "fire hazard" - but what's the worst that could happen - we'd have to take them down. Thanks for the tip about the shiny pipe cleaners - I'll have to make a trip to Michael's this week. The suction cup hooks are a "great" idea too! Thanks so much for sharing!

That sounds GREAT. One thing you might want to look at for the windows. Crayola makes washable window markers. 8 count and the Mega 4 pack. Easy and fun way to decorate. I can't see getting hassled for decor as long as you take proper care of it. Have a GREAT holiday vaca. I'm definitely planning one for next year.

our last Christmas trip was a split stay, 3 nights WL and then over to the Dolphin...we enjoyed the decor at WL, but that was about it ( I know everyone will think I am nuts).. we were SOOOO happy to get back to the Dolphin! We had an amazing view for our rate of 129...yep....129 over CHRISTMAS! We looked over the Grotto pool and DHS seeing the Osborne lights from out balcony
We asked at the desk if they minded if we brought a few christmas gifts downstairs on Christmas morning to be by the huge tree and they said no problem at all!Kids opened a few things in their jammies in the lobby by the tree, it was really pretty cool, yeah, there were people milling about( not too many) and I thought we might feel awkward, but not at all. They have Santa visit before Christmas Eve and a few activities for kids...even a "magic key" so you can hang it on your door Christmas Eve so Santa can get in There are certain times for the activities so be sure to ask when you get there if any are going on during your stay. They had a candy cane hunt by the pool, decorating cookies, the key, letters to Santa, of course pictures with Santa, then a tree lighting each evening that was to music for a few minutes with disco ball type lights, it was cute.
I think you will have a great time and again, the location is awesome especially to be able to walk and see other resorts and World Showcase during the Holidays, I love it there.
