Walking from Portofino to DLR
I'm having a hard time figuring out how long it will take to walk from the Portofino Inn and Suites to the entry area of DLR. I actually know the area pretty well (and looked at the "walking" map), but I'm not certain how long it actually takes!
We would be a group of 4 adults and 4 kids, age 7, 5, 2 and 2. We're debating between the HoJo and Portofino, mostly because the Portofino is cheaper for the kid suites. However, if it's also a 20 minute walk, that may change things.

We stayed there about 7 years ago and I remember thinking the walk was a little longer than I would have liked (esp. on the way back to the room at night!). It's probably every bit of 15 minutes if my memory serves me correctly! I do remember not going back to the room during the day for a break because it didn't seem worth it.

I have not stayed there, but my SIL and her family stayed there in August. Her kids are 5, 3 and 1. She said that it took about 20 minutes to walk to the gate pushing 1 stroller. She said that it was a bit far and that they would like something a little closer for their next trip.

I've stayed at both Portofino and HoJo's. HoJo's is half the walk, maybe even less.

We stayed there for a week in April it was a solid 15 minutes. Hojos for sure closer. It's easy to walk everyday in the morning, by the end of the day we were way to tired so we took ART. Portofino is the first stop on that route ( leaving DL) so it was an easy ride back at night. I wouldn't use it on the way in the morning, it's the first to pick up on the route...long ride into DL
but it's a nice hotel, for the right price I would stay there again

We walked it with no problem in September. My 4 yo hopped a ride on the double stroller though. Her asthma contributed a lot to that. My 7 yo didn't have trouble with the walk at all. Hojos is closer though.
