One week and counting for reservations... - The DIS Discussion Forums

After years and I mean years of trying, we are finally just one week away from being able to make our reservations for our big family vacation at Disney. Our 11 month window is next Monday and we will need a 3 bedroom to get all of us in. Between grandkids being to small or school, we have been unable to secure a time slot that all our kids and us could coordinate together. We finally sat down and told them here is what we want, you kids work out the exact details and they did!! We were able to work around fall break and work schedules and aggreed to help pay some of the expense but it is going to be so worth it. This may be a once in a life time chance to get us all together for such a big undertaking. Wish us luck next Monday when we get on the phone bright and early as possible to call...smjj

Good luck to you with your first DVC trip! We did this a few years ago by inviting my in-laws and my mother to come along on a big family trip. We had such wonderful memories from that trip. Sadly my dear MIL passed away about a year after that trip, so I was glad we were able to have that trip with her!

Hi smjj,
Just wanted to send some pixie dust your way for getting the reservation. My husbands family did a whole family vacation (I think there were 13 of us in one house-I lost count!) to the beach this year. It really is a once in a lifetime trip and all the planning that goes into it is so worth it. Good luck and be sure to let us know if you get the reservation.

But, if you can't get the GV, go for a studio and a two bedroom villa. That should even require fewer points.

Yeah! Congratulations. It will be so much fun and the GV at OKW are just beautiful and soooooo spacious. We loved our GV in building 43. Great golf course view and right across from the Turtle Pond pool.

Could we be selling it all in the near future? Maybe.
