Expiration of Hopper passes? Can i use mine from 2002?

I have 5 hopper passes with 2 days left from 2002.

These are the credit card size cardboard passes. They have a magnetic strip on the back. No photos.

I heard passes do not expire. Does anyone know if Disney will still honour these? or where I can enquire to find out. Thanks.

1) Yes.
2) Those are the older non-Magic-My-Way tickets.

3) Finger scans are required, but no special treatment is needed.

4) It is probably more cost effective to buy a new ticket for the whole vacation if more than 4 days.

5) It is probably a waste of money for any one person to use any of the old tickets and also buy a new ticket for more than a single day.
But it is OK to use an old hopper for exactly one day and buy a non-hopping ticket for the rest of the vaction.

they let us add days to our old tickets and it wasnt much more money - it was like 5.00 a day for park hopping - not sure if they still do this but this was in 2008 and the tickets were from 2001

I'm not sure how this could happen.

According to the ticket sticky, the only way this could have happened is if you had a old unused ticket and applied the original price of the old ticket to a new ticket.

From the sticky

Quote:
No pre-MYW ticket can be modified or upgraded in any manner.

If you have unused pre-MYW tickets you can use the original Disney selling price of one ticket as a credit to the purchase price of any current ticket with a selling price equal to or higher than the value of the old ticket. However, it probably will make more economic sense to use the ticket for entries. This will depend a lot on what the determined dollar value is.

Note that if the ticket was purchased from a discounter/broker the value given is what Disney sold the ticket for to the discounter/broker and not what you paid for it.

If you have a partially used pre-MYW ticket it cannot be upgraded, but the remaining entitlements can be used. If the ticket has become demagnetized, as long as the serial number string is readable a replacement ticket, with the same remaining entitlements, can be issued.
